Gluconolactone is named on the ingredient panel on this mist. Gluconolactone is a PHA, the gentlest exfoliant class. Its molecule is too large to penetrate quickly, so it smooths the surface without the sting of an AHA, and it is a humectant at the same time. On this panel it sits alongside Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate and Salicylic Acid. Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water is green tea distillate used in place of plain water as a base. It is far more dilute than the extract, so it sets the base rather than supplying the antioxidants.
