## How it works

Retinal is named on the ingredient panel on this serum. Retinal is retinaldehyde, a vitamin A derivative one chemical step closer to retinoic acid than retinol is. It is yellow-orange and unstable in light, so products carrying it are usually opaque. On this panel it sits alongside Tocopheryl Acetate and Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate. Tocopheryl Acetate is a stable vitamin E ester that skin converts to tocopherol. It is used as an antioxidant and a light emollient and holds up better than plain vitamin E in a formula.

## How to use

1. Use it after toner or essence, smoothing a small amount directly over the lips before moisturizer, AM and/or PM as part of the regular routine.
