## How it works

The panel on this cream names three forms of centella asiatica rather than one: Madecassoside, Asiaticoside, Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract. Madecassoside is the centella triterpene most associated with the look of redness, and the one brands lead with in cica products. It is water soluble and stable, so it appears in essences as readily as in creams. On this panel it sits alongside Bifida Ferment Lysate, Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate and Lactococcus Ferment Lysate. Bifida Ferment Lysate is a bifidobacteria ferment with the cells broken open. It is the ingredient behind the first-essence category and is used for the look of tired, reactive skin.
