## How it works

The panel on this serum names six forms of centella asiatica rather than one: Centella Asiatica Extract, Madecassoside, Asiaticoside, Madecassic Acid, Asiatic Acid, Centella Asiatica Callus Extracellular Vesicles. Centella Asiatica is the plant behind the whole cica category, sold as gotu kola or Madagascar centella. Its extract is the anchor of Korean formulas built for easily reddened skin, and its work is done by four triterpenes: asiaticoside, madecassoside, asiatic acid and madecassic acid. On this panel it sits alongside Niacinamide, Allantoin and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7. Niacinamide is vitamin B3, and it is the most studied active in Korean formulation. It is used at roughly 2 to 5 percent for the look of uneven tone and visible pores, and it is water soluble, stable and comfortable beside almost every other active, which is why it turns up in so many lists.

## How to use

1. Use it after toner, before moisturizer, morning and night, on a face that is still damp.
2. Three or four drops covers the face and neck. Press it in and give it a minute.
3. A moisturizer goes over the top, and sunscreen finishes the morning routine.
4. Twice a day, for a month before you judge it. Do not layer it under a fragranced cream if fragrance is what you are avoiding.

## FAQ

### What does Centella Asiatica Extract do in this formula?

Centella Asiatica Extract is cica, the calming botanical extract that anchors a large share of current Korean skincare. On this formula's own ingredient list it sits high on the ingredient list, among the formula's main working ingredients.

### Is this the Korean-market formula or a US version?

This is the Korean-market formula Purito Seoul sells on shelves in Korea, not a version reformulated for the US shelf.

### What step does this serum or ampoule go in a routine?

Apply a small amount to cleansed, toned skin, pat in gently, then follow with a moisturizer.

### Can I use this with other actives in my routine?

Centella Asiatica Extract generally layers well alongside a normal routine; introduce any new active gradually and watch how your skin responds over the first week or two.
