## Key benefits

- Five forms of ceramide on one panel, not a single token inclusion
- Niacinamide on the same panel, the formula's active
- Tocopherol on the same panel, the formula's antioxidant
- Korean GS1 barcode matched against a Korea sourcing supplier's record for this item

## How it works

The panel on this toner names five forms of ceramide rather than one: Ceramide NP, Ceramide NS, Ceramide AP, Ceramide AS, Ceramide EOP. Ceramide NP is the most used cosmetic ceramide, the same class of lipid that makes up roughly half the mortar between cells in the outer layer of skin. Added to a cream it slots into that structure, which is why ceramide formulas feel less leaky rather than merely greasy. On this panel it sits alongside Niacinamide, Tocopherol and Allantoin. Niacinamide is vitamin B3, and it is the most studied active in Korean formulation. It is used at roughly 2 to 5 percent for the look of uneven tone and visible pores, and it is water soluble, stable and comfortable beside almost every other active, which is why it turns up in so many lists.

## How to use

1. Use the ECF Skin Barrier Cream Toner straight after cleansing, morning and evening, while the face is still damp.
2. Apply an appropriate amount to either a cotton pad or directly on palms. Gently pad to absorb into skin.
3. It goes on before serum and moisturizer, and the damp layer it leaves is what the step above it holds on to.
4. Twice a day, every day. Do not let it dry down completely before the next layer goes on, or you lose the reason for applying it to damp skin.

## FAQ

### What does Panthenol do in this formula?

Panthenol is provitamin B5, a humectant and soothing ingredient used across toners, serums and creams. On this formula's own ingredient list it sits high on the ingredient list, among the formula's main working ingredients.

### Is this the Korean-market formula or a US version?

This is the Korean-market formula Z+PIDERM sells on shelves in Korea, not a version reformulated for the US shelf.

### What step does this toner go in a routine?

Sweep or pat onto cleansed skin using hands or a cotton pad, then continue with the next step of the routine.

### Can I use this with other actives in my routine?

Panthenol generally layers well alongside a normal routine; introduce any new active gradually and watch how your skin responds over the first week or two.
