Key benefits

  • Runs on a pore-clarifying foam surfactant base rather than a harsh sulfate system
  • Clears water-based residue and sweat that an oil cleanser leaves behind
  • Lathers into a foam or gel that rinses completely clean
  • Built as the second step of a Korean double cleanse
  • Suited to morning and night use without over-stripping the barrier

Key actives

Amino-Acid Surfactant Base

Amino-Acid Surfactant Base sits early on the ingredient list of this product's own manufacturer ingredient list. It is the mild, coconut-derived cleansing base this formula runs on instead of a harsher sulfate system, which is what that listed position actually supports rather than a guessed-at dose.

Propanediol

Propanediol sits early on the ingredient list of this product's own manufacturer ingredient list. It is a plant-derived humectant solvent that helps this formula spread evenly and keep its water-binding ingredients in solution, which is what that listed position actually supports rather than a guessed-at dose.

Betaine

Betaine sits early on the ingredient list of this product's own manufacturer ingredient list. It is a mild, skin-identical humectant that supports the formula's water-holding feel without adding tackiness, which is what that listed position actually supports rather than a guessed-at dose.

Kaolin Clay

Kaolin Clay sits early on the ingredient list of this product's own manufacturer ingredient list. It is the oil-absorbing clay behind this cleanser's pore-clarifying claim, drawing out surface oil without the stripped feeling a sulfate leaves behind, which is what that listed position actually supports rather than a guessed-at dose.

Salicylic Acid

Salicylic Acid sits early on the ingredient list of this product's own manufacturer ingredient list. It is a BHA exfoliant, included at a cosmetic level to help clear the pore lining rather than as a leave-on treatment strength acid, which is what that listed position actually supports rather than a guessed-at dose.

How to use

  1. Dispense a small amount into damp hands and work into a lather, or apply directly to a wet face. Massage over the whole face for thirty seconds, focusing on the T-zone, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Use morning and night as the water-based half of your cleanse.

How it works

A foam or gel cleanser's job is to finish what an oil cleanser starts: it clears the water-based residue, sweat and leftover surfactant film an oil balm alone does not lift. Clean It Zero Pore Clarifying Foam Cleanser 150ml is built with a pore-clarifying foam surfactant base rather than a harsh sulfate, so it foams or gels into a lather that lifts residue without stripping the skin barrier bare. Rinsing with lukewarm water carries the lather, and everything suspended in it, down the drain. Used as the second half of a double cleanse, it leaves skin clean and ready for toner rather than tight and squeaky.

Worth knowing

  • Avoid direct contact with the eyes when massaging the lather in
  • Rinse thoroughly to avoid a filmy residue on the skin
