How it works
The Eyelash Treatment Serum is a 6.5g serum, used after toner and before moisturizer, morning and evening. The active it is built around is Acetyl Glucosamine, named fourteenth on its own ingredient list. The same list carries Caffeine, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 and Acetyl Octapeptide-3, so the active is not the only thing on it worth naming. How much of the Acetyl Glucosamine stays on the skin, and for how long, is decided by the serum format rather than by the list alone. This is the Original Korean Formula, the serum BANILA CO sells in Korea, Acetyl Glucosamine and all.
Key benefits
- Acetyl Glucosamine, the active this serum is built around
- Caffeine on the same list, an active
- Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Acetyl Octapeptide-3 and Acetyl Tetrapeptide-2 on the same list, peptides
- Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3 and Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5 further down the same list
- Acetyl Tetrapeptide-9 and Copper Tripeptide-1 further down the same list
- Acetyl Glucosamine named fourteenth on the manufacturer list printed on this page
Key actives
Acetyl Glucosamineactive
Acetyl Glucosamine is the sugar unit hyaluronic acid is built from. It is used as a humectant and, at higher levels, for the look of uneven tone, often paired with niacinamide. On this serum's own ingredient list it is named fourteenth.
Caffeineactive
Caffeine constricts small blood vessels near the surface, which is why eye products use it for the look of puffiness and shadow. It is water soluble and works only while it is on the skin. It is named thirty-sixth on this serum's list, alongside Acetyl Glucosamine.
Acetyl Hexapeptide-8peptide
Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 is a six-amino-acid peptide used for the look of expression lines, particularly around the eyes. It is the peptide sold under the name Argireline and is water soluble and stable. The panel names it twenty-second on this serum's list, beside Acetyl Glucosamine.
Acetyl Octapeptide-3peptide
Acetyl Octapeptide-3 is an eight-amino-acid peptide used for the look of expression lines. It is usually paired with acetyl hexapeptide-8 rather than used alone. It is named twenty-fourth on this serum's list, alongside Acetyl Glucosamine.
Acetyl Tetrapeptide-2peptide
Acetyl Tetrapeptide-2 is a four-amino-acid peptide used for the look of firmness, particularly in eye and neck formulas. The panel names it twenty-fifth on this serum's list, beside Acetyl Glucosamine.
Where does this serum go in my routine?
After toner and before moisturizer, morning and evening. Anything thinner than a serum goes on before it, and anything richer goes on after. If you are adding it to a routine you already like, give it a week on its own first, so what you see is the Acetyl Glucosamine and not three changes at once.
Is this the Korean-market serum or a US version?
The Korean-market one, Acetyl Glucosamine and all. We match this serum to its Korean barcode before it reaches the shelf, which is the check that tells you which market release you are holding.
What else is on the list besides Acetyl Glucosamine?
Caffeine, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 and Acetyl Octapeptide-3. The order they are printed in on this serum's panel is the order on the box, so you can see where Acetyl Glucosamine sits relative to them. Further down the same panel: Acetyl Tetrapeptide-2, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3 and Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5.

How to use
- Use the Eyelash Treatment Serum at the end of the evening routine, on clean dry lashes.
- One pass of the applicator along the upper lash line, the way a liquid liner goes on. One coat is the dose, and a second pass over the same lashes does not add to it.
- Everything else in the routine goes on first. The lashes need to be clean and completely dry when it goes on, because eye cream, oil or leftover mascara gives it a film to sit on instead of the lash line.
- Once a day, in the evening. Do not run it along the waterline or let it into the eye itself; the base of the lashes is the closest it belongs.
Worth knowing
- Patch test this serum on a small area and wait a day before using it more widely, especially with Acetyl Glucosamine on the list.
- Introduce this serum on its own for the first week, so anything your skin does is traceable to the Acetyl Glucosamine rather than to three changes at once.
