Biodance Skin All-day Cover Balm 30ml
Titanium dioxide is second on this 30ml balm's list, straight after water, which is where the coverage comes from; mica plus yellow, red and black iron oxides set the shade, and shea butter sits twenty-second.

How it works
The Skin All-day Cover Balm is a 30ml balm, used as the final layer of the evening routine, over your usual moisturizer. The antioxidant it is built around is Tocopherol, named forty-third on its own ingredient list. The same list carries Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Isopropyl Palmitate and C18-21 Alkane, so the antioxidant is not the only thing on it worth naming. How much of the Tocopherol stays on the skin, and for how long, is decided by the balm format rather than by the list alone. This is the Original Korean Formula, the balm Biodance sells in Korea, Tocopherol and all.
Key benefits
- Tocopherol, the antioxidant this balm is built around
- Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Isopropyl Palmitate, C18-21 Alkane and Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter on the same list, emollients
- Panthenol and Sodium Hyaluronate further down the same list
- Tocopherol named forty-third on the manufacturer list printed on this page
- Sourced for the Korean market, not a US-shelf reformulation of this balm
Key actives
Tocopherolantioxidant
Tocopherol is vitamin E. It is an oil-soluble antioxidant that protects the oils in a formula from going rancid and works on skin as an emollient, and it is regularly paired with vitamin C because each keeps the other going for longer. On this balm's own ingredient list it is named forty-third.
Hydrogenated Polyisobuteneemollient
Hydrogenated Polyisobutene is a stabilised synthetic hydrocarbon used in place of mineral oil. It is an emollient that leaves a smooth, cushioned film. The panel names it eighth on this balm's list, beside Tocopherol.
Isopropyl Palmitateemollient
One of the oldest cosmetic emollient esters. It softens skin and thins a formula, and it is more occlusive than the very light modern esters. The panel names it ninth on this balm's list, beside Tocopherol.
C18-21 Alkaneemollient
A saturated hydrocarbon emollient in the same family as squalane, usually made from plant sugar or plant oil. It gives a dry, silicone like slip without a greasy finish. It is named twelfth on this balm's list, alongside Tocopherol.
Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butteremollient
Shea Butter is the fat pressed from the shea nut, rich in oleic and stearic acids and unsaponifiable plant sterols. It is a heavy emollient and partial occlusive, which is why it sits in balms and night creams rather than in essences. It is named twenty-second on this balm's list, alongside Tocopherol.
Where does this balm go in my routine?
As the final layer of the evening routine, over your usual moisturizer. Anything thinner than a balm goes on before it, and anything richer goes on after. If you are adding it to a routine you already like, give it a week on its own first, so what you see is the Tocopherol and not three changes at once.
Is this the Korean-market balm or a US version?
The Korean-market one, Tocopherol and all. We match this balm to its Korean barcode before it reaches the shelf, which is the check that tells you which market release you are holding.
What else is on the list besides Tocopherol?
Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Isopropyl Palmitate and C18-21 Alkane. The order they are printed in on this balm's panel is the order on the box, so you can see where Tocopherol sits relative to them. Further down the same panel: Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Panthenol and Sodium Hyaluronate.

How to use
- AM: use it smoothed over the areas that need coverage as the last step.
- Build coverage in thin layers rather than applying one heavy pass.
- Blend outward toward the hairline and jaw instead of stopping at a hard edge.
Worth knowing
- Skin that is actively broken out or irritated does best starting this once daily before moving to twice.
- Pregnant or breastfeeding shoppers should run any new skincare step past their own physician before adding it.
- This step is not a substitute for a dedicated sunscreen, which should still be the last step of the morning routine.
