Water solvent

Water is the base almost every serum, toner and cream is built on. It dissolves the water-loving ingredients and sets how light the finished texture feels. On an INCI list it is usually first, which only means it is the largest single ingredient by weight.

Chrysanthemum Zawadskii Extract plant extract

Korean mountain chrysanthemum extract. It carries flavonoids and is used for the look of reddened, reactive skin.

Sodium Laureth Sulfate surfactant

An ethoxylated sulfate cleansing surfactant. The added ethylene oxide units make it noticeably milder and less drying than sodium lauryl sulfate while still foaming strongly.

Rehmannia Glutinosa Root Extract plant extract

Chinese foxglove root, one of the standing herbal roots of Korean medicine. Its extract carries iridoid glycosides and sugars and is used as a conditioning extract.

Thuja Orientalis Leaf Extract plant extract

Oriental arborvitae leaf extract, the cheukbaengyeop of Korean herbal practice. It is used as a conditioning extract, most often in scalp formulas.

Artemisia Vulgaris Extract plant extract

Common mugwort extract. It is the same genus as the Korean mugwort artemisia princeps and is used for the look of reddened, reactive skin.

Cocamidopropyl Betaine surfactant

Cocamidopropyl Betaine is a coconut-derived secondary surfactant. Its job is to boost foam and soften the harshness of the main cleanser rather than to clean on its own.
