How to use
- Use the BLOOMING EDITION Glass Shine Lip Topper on clean lips, at any point in the day and again as the last thing before bed.
- Apply gently along the lip line, moving from the center of the lips outward. Wear alone or layer over lipstick or lip tint.
- It goes on last over any lip product, and on bare lips it needs nothing underneath it.
- As often as lips feel dry. Do not reapply over and over in place of drinking water; a balm holds moisture in, it does not add any.
Does this product contain added fragrance?
Yes. The ingredient list for DEAR DAHLIA BLOOMING EDITION Glass Shine Lip Topper 5.5g includes Fragrance. That is the label name for an added scent blend, whose individual components are not itemised beyond any allergens the label declares separately. The full list is printed in the Ingredients section of this page.
Does this product contain essential oils?
Yes. The ingredient list for DEAR DAHLIA BLOOMING EDITION Glass Shine Lip Topper 5.5g includes Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil and Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil. Aromatic plant oils are listed under their botanical name rather than as fragrance, so they are named separately from any fragrance or parfum entry.
Are any declarable fragrance allergens listed?
Yes. Linalool appears on the ingredient list for DEAR DAHLIA BLOOMING EDITION Glass Shine Lip Topper 5.5g. These belong to the 26 fragrance components that EU cosmetic labelling requires to be named individually rather than folded into a fragrance entry.
Does this product contain denatured or SD alcohol?

21 of 24 explained
- Hydrogenated Polyisobutene emollient
- Hydrogenated Polyisobutene is a stabilised synthetic hydrocarbon used in place of mineral oil. It is an emollient that leaves a smooth, cushioned film.
- Diisostearyl Malate emollient
- Diisostearyl Malate is a thick, glossy ester used to hold pigment in suspension and give a cushioned shine. It is the standard emollient in lip products.
- Octyldodecanol emollient
- Octyldodecanol is a branched fatty alcohol used as an emollient and as a solvent for pigments and mineral powders. It thickens slightly and leaves a soft finish.
- Polyisobutene film former
- Polyisobutene is a synthetic polymer that forms a flexible, water-resistant film. It gives gloss and holds a formula in place, which is why it appears in lip products and long-wear textures.
- Dextrin Palmitate thickener
- Dextrin Palmitate is a starch-based gelling agent for the oil phase. It thickens oils into a clear gel and keeps pigment evenly suspended.
- 1,2-Hexanediol humectant
- 1,2-Hexanediol is a glycol used for two reasons: it holds water like glycerin, and it makes a formula harder for microbes to live in, so less traditional preservative is needed. Korean formulas use it heavily for that second reason.
- Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil emollient
- Sweet almond oil, one of the oldest cosmetic oils. It is high in oleic acid, which makes it richer and slower to absorb than the linoleic oils.
- Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter emollient
- Shea Butter is the fat pressed from the shea nut, rich in oleic and stearic acids and unsaponifiable plant sterols. It is a heavy emollient and partial occlusive, which is why it sits in balms and night creams rather than in essences.
- Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil emollient
- Argan Oil is pressed from the argan kernel and is rich in oleic and linoleic acids plus vitamin E. It is a medium-weight emollient that absorbs reasonably fast.
- Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter emollient
- Cocoa butter, pressed from the cacao bean. It is firm at room temperature, high in stearic and oleic acid, and used as a rich occlusive emollient.
- Dibutyl Ethylhexanoyl Glutamide thickener
- An amino-acid-derived oil gellant, usually declared beside its lauroyl partner. Together they turn an oil into a clear, firm gel.
- Dibutyl Lauroyl Glutamide thickener
- An amino-acid-derived gelling agent for oils. It sets an oil phase into a clear gel or a stick without a wax.
9 more explained
- Menthol active
- Menthol is the cooling compound in mint. It acts on the nerve receptor that also answers to cold, which is why skin feels cool without any change in temperature.
- Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil fragrance component
- Lavender Oil is an essential oil carrying linalool and linalyl acetate. It scents a formula, and linalool is one of the fragrance components EU labelling requires to be named separately.
- Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate colorant
- A glass flake used as the carrier for high-shine pearl pigments. It is inert and sits on the surface.
- Fragrance fragrance
- Fragrance, or Parfum, is a single declaration standing for a whole scent blend, which can be dozens of materials. Regulators allow it as a trade secret, so a list showing only this word does not say what the scent is made of. It is the most common trigger named by people with reactive skin.
- Water solvent
- Water is the base almost every serum, toner and cream is built on. It dissolves the water-loving ingredients and sets how light the finished texture feels. On an INCI list it is usually first, which only means it is the largest single ingredient by weight.
- Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil fragrance component
- Bergamot Fruit Oil is a citrus essential oil and the top note of eau de cologne. It scents a formula; citrus oils are the aromatic class most likely to bother reactive skin.
- Tin Oxide colorant
- A white mineral used in small amounts alongside pearl pigments, where it helps them disperse and brightens the effect.
- Glycerin humectant
- Glycerin is the most used humectant in skincare. It draws water into the outer layer of skin and holds it there, and it is one of the very few ingredients whose hydrating effect is settled science rather than marketing. Higher amounts feel tacky, which is why it is usually blended.
- Linalool fragrance component
- Linalool is a floral aromatic found in lavender, bergamot and coriander. It is one of the 26 fragrance components EU labelling requires to be declared by name.
