How to use
- Use the BLOOMING EDITION Petal Touch Plumping Lip Velour 3.8g #Tickle on clean lips, morning and evening, before any balm.

- It goes on under a balm, which is the layer that keeps it in place.
- Twice a day. Do not use it on broken or cracked lips; wait until the surface is intact.
Does this product contain added fragrance?
No. Neither fragrance nor parfum appears on the ingredient list for DEAR DAHLIA BLOOMING EDITION Petal Touch Plumping Lip Velour 3.8g #Tickle. Those are the two names a cosmetic label uses for an added scent blend, so a formula carrying one would name it. The full list is printed in the Ingredients section of this page.
Does this product contain essential oils?
Yes. The ingredient list for DEAR DAHLIA BLOOMING EDITION Petal Touch Plumping Lip Velour 3.8g #Tickle includes LAVANDULA ANGUSTIFOLIA (LAVENDER) OIL and CITRUS GRANDIS (GRAPEFRUIT) PEEL OIL. Aromatic plant oils are listed under their botanical name rather than as fragrance, so they are named separately from any fragrance or parfum entry.
Are any declarable fragrance allergens listed?
No. None of the 26 fragrance components that EU cosmetic labelling requires to be named individually appear on the ingredient list for DEAR DAHLIA BLOOMING EDITION Petal Touch Plumping Lip Velour 3.8g #Tickle. They are the components most often reported as contact allergens, which is why that rule names them one by one.
Does this product contain denatured or SD alcohol?
No. The ingredient list for DEAR DAHLIA BLOOMING EDITION Petal Touch Plumping Lip Velour 3.8g #Tickle names no denatured alcohol, SD alcohol or ethanol. Fatty alcohols such as cetyl and cetearyl alcohol are a different class of ingredient, used as emollients and thickeners, and are not counted here.
Not on the ingredient list below: fragrance or parfum, denatured or SD alcohol, parabens, sulfate surfactants and mineral oil or petrolatum.

30 of 40 explained
- DIMETHICONE silicone
- Dimethicone is the most used cosmetic silicone. It forms a breathable film that smooths the surface, slows water leaving skin, and gives the slip that makes a primer or cream feel silky. It is inert and does not penetrate.
- DIMETHICONE/VINYL DIMETHICONE CROSSPOLYMER silicone
- This is a silicone elastomer, a soft springy gel. It fills the look of fine texture and gives the velvety, blurred finish of a primer.
- ISODODECANE solvent
- Isododecane is a light, volatile hydrocarbon. It carries pigments and film formers on smoothly and then evaporates, leaving the film behind and nothing oily.
- WATER solvent
- Water is the base almost every serum, toner and cream is built on. It dissolves the water-loving ingredients and sets how light the finished texture feels. On an INCI list it is usually first, which only means it is the largest single ingredient by weight.
- CETYL PEG/PPG-10/1 DIMETHICONE silicone
- A silicone emulsifier used to hold water inside an oil or silicone phase. It is the standard emulsifier in a cushion or a silicone-based primer.
- MENTHYL LACTATE active
- Menthyl Lactate is a menthol derivative that gives a cooling sensation without menthol's sharpness or scent. It is a sensory ingredient rather than an active.
- POLYGLYCERYL-2 TRIISOSTEARATE emulsifier
- Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate is a water-in-oil emulsifier used in balms and rich creams, and a good pigment disperser.
- GLYCERIN humectant
- Glycerin is the most used humectant in skincare. It draws water into the outer layer of skin and holds it there, and it is one of the very few ingredients whose hydrating effect is settled science rather than marketing. Higher amounts feel tacky, which is why it is usually blended.
- DIMETHICONOL silicone
- Dimethiconol is a high-molecular-weight silicone that leaves a longer-lasting smooth film than dimethicone. It is used for lasting slip and shine.
- BUTYLENE GLYCOL humectant
- Butylene Glycol is a small glycol that does two jobs at once: it holds water in the top layer of skin and it dissolves plant extracts and actives that plain water cannot. It also thins a formula, which is why watery Korean essences lean on it.
- SILICA absorbent
- Silica is finely milled mineral, essentially very pure sand. It absorbs oil, stops powders clumping and soft-focuses the look of pores and fine lines.
- 1,2-HEXANEDIOL humectant
- 1,2-Hexanediol is a glycol used for two reasons: it holds water like glycerin, and it makes a formula harder for microbes to live in, so less traditional preservative is needed. Korean formulas use it heavily for that second reason.
18 more explained
- DIPHENYL DIMETHICONE silicone
- Diphenyl Dimethicone is a glossy silicone used to add shine and a smooth film, particularly in lip and highlighting textures.
- PRUNUS AMYGDALUS DULCIS (SWEET ALMOND) OIL emollient
- Sweet almond oil, one of the oldest cosmetic oils. It is high in oleic acid, which makes it richer and slower to absorb than the linoleic oils.
- ARGANIA SPINOSA KERNEL OIL emollient
- Argan Oil is pressed from the argan kernel and is rich in oleic and linoleic acids plus vitamin E. It is a medium-weight emollient that absorbs reasonably fast.
- BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA) BUTTER emollient
- Shea Butter is the fat pressed from the shea nut, rich in oleic and stearic acids and unsaponifiable plant sterols. It is a heavy emollient and partial occlusive, which is why it sits in balms and night creams rather than in essences.
- THEOBROMA CACAO (COCOA) SEED BUTTER emollient
- Cocoa butter, pressed from the cacao bean. It is firm at room temperature, high in stearic and oleic acid, and used as a rich occlusive emollient.
- POLYGLYCERYL-4 ISOSTEARATE emulsifier
- Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate is a water-in-oil emulsifier common in cleansing oils and balms.
- CAPRYLYL GLYCOL preservative booster
- Caprylyl Glycol is a glycol that conditions skin and, more importantly, strengthens a preservative system so less of the traditional preservative is needed. It appears in most modern formulas built without parabens.
- DISTEARDIMONIUM HECTORITE thickener
- Disteardimonium Hectorite is a modified clay used to thicken the oil phase and stop pigments settling to the bottom of the bottle.
- PROPANEDIOL humectant
- Propanediol is a plant-derived glycol used in place of propylene glycol. It hydrates, carries actives into solution, and gives a lighter, less sticky slip than glycerin at the same strength.
- LAVANDULA ANGUSTIFOLIA (LAVENDER) OIL fragrance component
- Lavender Oil is an essential oil carrying linalool and linalyl acetate. It scents a formula, and linalool is one of the fragrance components EU labelling requires to be named separately.
- ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN preservative booster
- Ethylhexylglycerin softens skin and boosts a preservative system, which is why it is nearly always sitting beside phenoxyethanol or 1,2-hexanediol. It also cuts down the odour bacteria produce, so it turns up in deodorising products.
- PROPYLENE CARBONATE solvent
- A polar solvent used mainly with clays: it swells montmorillonite and hectorite so they thicken an oil phase. It also thins heavy pigment pastes.
- DIISOSTEARYL MALATE emollient
- Diisostearyl Malate is a thick, glossy ester used to hold pigment in suspension and give a cushioned shine. It is the standard emollient in lip products.
- TRIETHOXYCAPRYLYLSILANE silicone
- Triethoxycaprylylsilane is a coating applied to mineral powders so they disperse evenly and resist water rather than clumping.
- ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE absorbent
- Aluminum Hydroxide is a mineral powder used to coat pigments so they disperse evenly, and to absorb a little oil. It is not an antiperspirant salt.
- CITRUS GRANDIS (GRAPEFRUIT) PEEL OIL fragrance component
- Grapefruit Peel Oil is a citrus essential oil rich in limonene. It scents a formula and belongs to the aromatic class reactive skin often avoids.
- ILLICIUM VERUM (ANISE) FRUIT EXTRACT plant extract
- Star Anise Fruit Extract carries aromatic plant compounds. It is used as a conditioning extract and contributes scent.
- IRON OXIDE YELLOW (CI 77492) colorant
- Iron Oxides are mineral pigments in red, yellow and black, and the three are blended to make every skin-tone shade in a tinted product. They are inert and sit on the surface.
