Does this product contain added fragrance?
No. Neither fragrance nor parfum appears on the ingredient list for DEAR DAHLIA Paradise Aurora Shine Lip Treatment 6.5ml #05 Bronze Sky. Those are the two names a cosmetic label uses for an added scent blend, so a formula carrying one would name it. The full list is printed in the Ingredients section of this page.
Does this product contain essential oils?
Yes. The ingredient list for DEAR DAHLIA Paradise Aurora Shine Lip Treatment 6.5ml #05 Bronze Sky includes LAVANDULA ANGUSTIFOLIA (LAVENDER) OIL and CITRUS AURANTIUM DULCIS (ORANGE) PEEL OIL. Aromatic plant oils are listed under their botanical name rather than as fragrance, so they are named separately from any fragrance or parfum entry.
Are any declarable fragrance allergens listed?
No. None of the 26 fragrance components that EU cosmetic labelling requires to be named individually appear on the ingredient list for DEAR DAHLIA Paradise Aurora Shine Lip Treatment 6.5ml #05 Bronze Sky. They are the components most often reported as contact allergens, which is why that rule names them one by one.
Does this product contain denatured or SD alcohol?
No. The ingredient list for DEAR DAHLIA Paradise Aurora Shine Lip Treatment 6.5ml #05 Bronze Sky names no denatured alcohol, SD alcohol or ethanol. Fatty alcohols such as cetyl and cetearyl alcohol are a different class of ingredient, used as emollients and thickeners, and are not counted here.
Not on the ingredient list below: fragrance or parfum, denatured or SD alcohol, silicones, parabens, sulfate surfactants and mineral oil or petrolatum.

27 of 33 explained
- POLYGLYCERYL-2 TRIISOSTEARATE emulsifier
- Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate is a water-in-oil emulsifier used in balms and rich creams, and a good pigment disperser.
- HYDROGENATED POLYISOBUTENE emollient
- Hydrogenated Polyisobutene is a stabilised synthetic hydrocarbon used in place of mineral oil. It is an emollient that leaves a smooth, cushioned film.
- POLYBUTENE film former
- Polybutene is a thick, sticky synthetic liquid polymer. It supplies the tack in a spot patch and the cushioned shine in a lip product.
- DIISOSTEARYL MALATE emollient
- Diisostearyl Malate is a thick, glossy ester used to hold pigment in suspension and give a cushioned shine. It is the standard emollient in lip products.
- CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE emollient
- Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is the light fraction of coconut oil, with the heavy parts removed. It is the workhorse emollient of modern formulas: it softens skin, dissolves oil-soluble actives and absorbs without the greasy weight of a whole plant oil.
- SILICA DIMETHYL SILYLATE absorbent
- Silica Dimethyl Silylate is silica with a silicone surface coating. It absorbs oil, thickens and stops powders clumping.
- DIMER DILINOLEYL DIMER DILINOLEATE emollient
- A very large plant-derived ester with a heavy, cushioned feel. It is used in lip and balm formulas for gloss and cling.
- TOCOPHERYL ACETATE antioxidant
- Tocopheryl Acetate is a stable vitamin E ester that skin converts to tocopherol. It is used as an antioxidant and a light emollient and holds up better than plain vitamin E in a formula.
- LAVANDULA ANGUSTIFOLIA (LAVENDER) OIL fragrance component
- Lavender Oil is an essential oil carrying linalool and linalyl acetate. It scents a formula, and linalool is one of the fragrance components EU labelling requires to be named separately.
- CITRUS AURANTIUM DULCIS (ORANGE) PEEL OIL fragrance component
- Sweet Orange Peel Oil is a citrus essential oil carrying limonene. It scents a formula, and limonene is one of the components EU labelling names separately.
- PRUNUS AMYGDALUS DULCIS (SWEET ALMOND) OIL emollient
- Sweet almond oil, one of the oldest cosmetic oils. It is high in oleic acid, which makes it richer and slower to absorb than the linoleic oils.
- ARGANIA SPINOSA KERNEL OIL emollient
- Argan Oil is pressed from the argan kernel and is rich in oleic and linoleic acids plus vitamin E. It is a medium-weight emollient that absorbs reasonably fast.
15 more explained
- BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA) BUTTER emollient
- Shea Butter is the fat pressed from the shea nut, rich in oleic and stearic acids and unsaponifiable plant sterols. It is a heavy emollient and partial occlusive, which is why it sits in balms and night creams rather than in essences.
- THEOBROMA CACAO (COCOA) SEED BUTTER emollient
- Cocoa butter, pressed from the cacao bean. It is firm at room temperature, high in stearic and oleic acid, and used as a rich occlusive emollient.
- CALCIUM ALUMINUM BOROSILICATE colorant
- A glass flake used as the carrier for high-shine pearl pigments. It is inert and sits on the surface.
- SILICA absorbent
- Silica is finely milled mineral, essentially very pure sand. It absorbs oil, stops powders clumping and soft-focuses the look of pores and fine lines.
- DEHYDROACETIC ACID preservative
- A preservative that works best in acidic formulas and is almost always paired with benzyl alcohol. It is one of the standard systems in products built without parabens.
- BENZOTRIAZOLYL DODECYL P-CRESOL antioxidant
- A light stabiliser. Its job is to keep the formula itself from degrading in light, so it is a product-stability ingredient rather than one aimed at skin.
- TIN OXIDE colorant
- A white mineral used in small amounts alongside pearl pigments, where it helps them disperse and brightens the effect.
- WATER solvent
- Water is the base almost every serum, toner and cream is built on. It dissolves the water-loving ingredients and sets how light the finished texture feels. On an INCI list it is usually first, which only means it is the largest single ingredient by weight.
- TOCOPHEROL antioxidant
- Tocopherol is vitamin E. It is an oil-soluble antioxidant that protects the oils in a formula from going rancid and works on skin as an emollient, and it is regularly paired with vitamin C because each keeps the other going for longer.
- GLYCERIN humectant
- Glycerin is the most used humectant in skincare. It draws water into the outer layer of skin and holds it there, and it is one of the very few ingredients whose hydrating effect is settled science rather than marketing. Higher amounts feel tacky, which is why it is usually blended.
- 1,2-HEXANEDIOL humectant
- 1,2-Hexanediol is a glycol used for two reasons: it holds water like glycerin, and it makes a formula harder for microbes to live in, so less traditional preservative is needed. Korean formulas use it heavily for that second reason.
- IRON OXIDES (CI 77491) colorant
- Iron Oxides are mineral pigments in red, yellow and black, and the three are blended to make every skin-tone shade in a tinted product. They are inert and sit on the surface.
- RED 6 (CI 15850) colorant
- Red 6 is a synthetic blue-red dye used as a lip and cheek colour. Its laked form, anchored to a mineral base, is declared as Red 7 Lake.
- YELLOW 5 LAKE (CI 19140) colorant
- Yellow 5 Lake is a synthetic yellow dye anchored to a mineral base so it stays put as a pigment rather than dissolving.
- RED 7 LAKE (CI 15850:1) colorant
- Red 7 Lake is a synthetic blue-red dye anchored to a mineral base so it stays put as a pigment. It is a standard lip and cheek colour.
