How to use
- Use the Paradise Dream Velvet Lip Mousse 6.5ml #15 Button on clean lips, at any point in the day and again as the last thing before bed.
- Apply directly to the lips and blend evenly. Layer for more intense color. For a coordinated look, lightly blend onto the cheeks.
- It goes on last over any lip product, and on bare lips it needs nothing underneath it.
- As often as lips feel dry. Do not reapply over and over in place of drinking water; a balm holds moisture in, it does not add any.
Does this product contain added fragrance?
No. Neither fragrance nor parfum appears on the ingredient list for DEAR DAHLIA Paradise Dream Velvet Lip Mousse 6.5ml #15 Button. Those are the two names a cosmetic label uses for an added scent blend, so a formula carrying one would name it. The full list is printed in the Ingredients section of this page.
Does this product contain essential oils?
Yes. The ingredient list for DEAR DAHLIA Paradise Dream Velvet Lip Mousse 6.5ml #15 Button includes LAVANDULA ANGUSTIFOLIA (LAVENDER) OIL and CITRUS AURANTIUM DULCIS (ORANGE) PEEL OIL. Aromatic plant oils are listed under their botanical name rather than as fragrance, so they are named separately from any fragrance or parfum entry.
Are any declarable fragrance allergens listed?
No. None of the 26 fragrance components that EU cosmetic labelling requires to be named individually appear on the ingredient list for DEAR DAHLIA Paradise Dream Velvet Lip Mousse 6.5ml #15 Button. They are the components most often reported as contact allergens, which is why that rule names them one by one.
Does this product contain denatured or SD alcohol?
No. The ingredient list for DEAR DAHLIA Paradise Dream Velvet Lip Mousse 6.5ml #15 Button names no denatured alcohol, SD alcohol or ethanol. Fatty alcohols such as cetyl and cetearyl alcohol are a different class of ingredient, used as emollients and thickeners, and are not counted here.
Not on the ingredient list below: fragrance or parfum, denatured or SD alcohol, parabens, sulfate surfactants and mineral oil or petrolatum.

24 of 27 explained
- DIMETHICONE silicone
- Dimethicone is the most used cosmetic silicone. It forms a breathable film that smooths the surface, slows water leaving skin, and gives the slip that makes a primer or cream feel silky. It is inert and does not penetrate.
- CYCLOPENTASILOXANE silicone
- Cyclopentasiloxane is a volatile silicone: it spreads a formula thin and smooth then evaporates, leaving no residue. It is the silicone behind a dry, powdery primer finish.
- DIMETHICONE/VINYL DIMETHICONE CROSSPOLYMER silicone
- This is a silicone elastomer, a soft springy gel. It fills the look of fine texture and gives the velvety, blurred finish of a primer.
- DIMETHICONE CROSSPOLYMER silicone
- Dimethicone Crosspolymer is silicone linked into a soft, springy network. It soaks up oil, blurs the look of texture, and gives the velvety feel of a primer.
- POLYGLYCERYL-2 TRIISOSTEARATE emulsifier
- Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate is a water-in-oil emulsifier used in balms and rich creams, and a good pigment disperser.
- KAOLIN absorbent
- Kaolin is white clay, the mildest of the cosmetic clays. It absorbs oil and lifts loose debris from the surface without stripping, which is why it is the clay used on drier skin.
- 1,2-HEXANEDIOL humectant
- 1,2-Hexanediol is a glycol used for two reasons: it holds water like glycerin, and it makes a formula harder for microbes to live in, so less traditional preservative is needed. Korean formulas use it heavily for that second reason.
- LAVANDULA ANGUSTIFOLIA (LAVENDER) OIL fragrance component
- Lavender Oil is an essential oil carrying linalool and linalyl acetate. It scents a formula, and linalool is one of the fragrance components EU labelling requires to be named separately.
- CITRUS AURANTIUM DULCIS (ORANGE) PEEL OIL fragrance component
- Sweet Orange Peel Oil is a citrus essential oil carrying limonene. It scents a formula, and limonene is one of the components EU labelling names separately.
- PRUNUS AMYGDALUS DULCIS (SWEET ALMOND) OIL emollient
- Sweet almond oil, one of the oldest cosmetic oils. It is high in oleic acid, which makes it richer and slower to absorb than the linoleic oils.
- BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA) BUTTER emollient
- Shea Butter is the fat pressed from the shea nut, rich in oleic and stearic acids and unsaponifiable plant sterols. It is a heavy emollient and partial occlusive, which is why it sits in balms and night creams rather than in essences.
- ARGANIA SPINOSA KERNEL OIL emollient
- Argan Oil is pressed from the argan kernel and is rich in oleic and linoleic acids plus vitamin E. It is a medium-weight emollient that absorbs reasonably fast.
12 more explained
- THEOBROMA CACAO (COCOA) SEED BUTTER emollient
- Cocoa butter, pressed from the cacao bean. It is firm at room temperature, high in stearic and oleic acid, and used as a rich occlusive emollient.
- VINYL DIMETHICONE/METHICONE SILSESQUIOXANE CROSSPOLYMER silicone
- A silicone elastomer powder. It changes how light falls on skin so texture looks softer, absorbs a little oil, and leaves a dry velvet finish.
- DIISOSTEARYL MALATE emollient
- Diisostearyl Malate is a thick, glossy ester used to hold pigment in suspension and give a cushioned shine. It is the standard emollient in lip products.
- METHYL METHACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER absorbent
- Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer is a polymer in fine sphere form. It absorbs oil, soft-focuses the look of texture and gives a powdery slip.
- HDI/TRIMETHYLOL HEXYLLACTONE CROSSPOLYMER absorbent
- A spherical polymer powder. The spheres roll under the fingers, absorb a little oil and scatter light, which softens the look of pores and fine lines.
- ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN preservative booster
- Ethylhexylglycerin softens skin and boosts a preservative system, which is why it is nearly always sitting beside phenoxyethanol or 1,2-hexanediol. It also cuts down the odour bacteria produce, so it turns up in deodorising products.
- WATER solvent
- Water is the base almost every serum, toner and cream is built on. It dissolves the water-loving ingredients and sets how light the finished texture feels. On an INCI list it is usually first, which only means it is the largest single ingredient by weight.
- TOCOPHEROL antioxidant
- Tocopherol is vitamin E. It is an oil-soluble antioxidant that protects the oils in a formula from going rancid and works on skin as an emollient, and it is regularly paired with vitamin C because each keeps the other going for longer.
- GLYCERIN humectant
- Glycerin is the most used humectant in skincare. It draws water into the outer layer of skin and holds it there, and it is one of the very few ingredients whose hydrating effect is settled science rather than marketing. Higher amounts feel tacky, which is why it is usually blended.
- IRON OXIDES (CI 77491) colorant
- Iron Oxides are mineral pigments in red, yellow and black, and the three are blended to make every skin-tone shade in a tinted product. They are inert and sit on the surface.
- RED 7 LAKE (CI 15850) colorant
- Red 7 Lake is a synthetic blue-red dye anchored to a mineral base so it stays put as a pigment. It is a standard lip and cheek colour.
- YELLOW 5 LAKE (CI 19140) colorant
- Yellow 5 Lake is a synthetic yellow dye anchored to a mineral base so it stays put as a pigment rather than dissolving.
