How it works
The Ceramide Mask is a 1ea sheet mask, used after toner, in place of your serum step, in the evening. The barrier lipid it is built around is Ceramide NP, named twenty-eighth on its own ingredient list. The same list carries Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract and Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, so the barrier lipid is not the only thing on it worth naming. How much of the Ceramide NP stays on the skin, and for how long, is decided by the sheet mask format rather than by the list alone. This is the Original Korean Formula, the sheet mask ETUDE sells in Korea, Ceramide NP and all.
Key benefits
- Ceramide NP, the barrier lipid this sheet mask is built around
- Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate on the same list, an active
- Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract and Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract on the same list, plant extracts
- Coptis Japonica Root Extract and Boswellia Serrata Gum further down the same list
- Centella Asiatica Extract and Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract further down the same list
- Ceramide NP named twenty-eighth on the manufacturer list printed on this page
Key actives
Ceramide NPbarrier lipid
Ceramide NP is the most used cosmetic ceramide, the same class of lipid that makes up roughly half the mortar between cells in the outer layer of skin. Added to a cream it slots into that structure, which is why ceramide formulas feel less leaky rather than merely greasy. The name on the box points at it, and it is named twenty-eighth on this sheet mask's own ingredient list.
Dipotassium Glycyrrhizateactive
Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate is a water-soluble salt derived from licorice root. The panel names it nineteenth on this sheet mask's list, beside Ceramide NP.
Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extractplant extract
Licorice Root Extract carries glabridin and liquiritin. It is one of the classic plant ingredients used for the look of uneven tone and redness, and it appears in almost every brightening formula that avoids synthetic actives. The panel names it fourteenth on this sheet mask's list, beside Ceramide NP.
Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extractplant extract
Camellia Sinensis is the tea plant. Green tea leaf extract carries catechins, among the most studied plant antioxidants, and is used for the look of redness and oily shine. It is named fifteenth on this sheet mask's list, alongside Ceramide NP.
Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extractplant extract
Ginger root extract. It carries gingerols, gives a warming sensory character, and is used as an antioxidant-rich herbal extract. It is named sixteenth on this sheet mask's list, alongside Ceramide NP.
Where does this sheet mask go in my routine?
After toner, in place of your serum step, in the evening. Toner goes on before it, and the rest of the routine goes on after you take the sheet mask off. If you are adding it to a routine you already like, give it a week on its own first, so what you see is the Ceramide NP and not three changes at once.
Is this the Korean-market sheet mask or a US version?
The Korean-market one, Ceramide NP and all. We match this sheet mask to its Korean barcode before it reaches the shelf, which is the check that tells you which market release you are holding.
Does this sheet mask contain fragrance?
Yes. The ingredient list names Limonene. It sits on the panel printed on this page, so you can read the position for yourself before you buy. If fragrance components are something you avoid, this sheet mask is not the one.
What else is on the list besides Ceramide NP?
Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract and Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract. The order they are printed in on this sheet mask's panel is the order on the box, so you can see where Ceramide NP sits relative to them. Further down the same panel: Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract, Coptis Japonica Root Extract and Boswellia Serrata Gum.

How to use
- Use the Ceramide Mask after toner, in place of your serum step, in the evening.
- Apply the mask sheet on your face evenly. Remove after 10 to 20 minutes and then gently massage for better absorption.
- Take it off at the time printed on the pack, pat in the essence left behind rather than rinsing, then go straight to your moisturizer.
- Two or three evenings a week is a normal rhythm. Do not leave it on past its time; a sheet that has gone dry takes moisture back off the face as it goes.
Worth knowing
- Patch test this sheet mask on a small area and wait a day before using it more widely, especially with Ceramide NP on the list.
- This list names Limonene, so skip it if fragrance components are something you avoid.
