Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil emollient

Rice Bran Oil is pressed from the bran left over from milling rice. It carries vitamin E and a group of rice-specific antioxidants, and it is a light emollient.

Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil emollient

Sunflower Seed Oil is high in linoleic acid, the fatty acid dry and blemish-prone skin is often short of. It is a light, non-fragrant emollient and one of the better tolerated plant oils.

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride emollient

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is the light fraction of coconut oil, with the heavy parts removed. It is the workhorse emollient of modern formulas: it softens skin, dissolves oil-soluble actives and absorbs without the greasy weight of a whole plant oil.

Triolein emollient

Triolein is three oleic acid chains on a glycerin backbone, the main triglyceride in olive and high oleic oils. It is used as a rich emollient with a slow, cushioned absorption.

Heptyl Undecylenate emollient

A plant-derived ester used as a light, dry emollient and as a solvent for oil-soluble ingredients. Formulas that avoid silicones use it for the same slip.

Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil emollient

Sweet almond oil, one of the oldest cosmetic oils. It is high in oleic acid, which makes it richer and slower to absorb than the linoleic oils.

Tocopherol antioxidant

Tocopherol is vitamin E. It is an oil-soluble antioxidant that protects the oils in a formula from going rancid and works on skin as an emollient, and it is regularly paired with vitamin C because each keeps the other going for longer.

Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil fragrance component

Lavender Oil is an essential oil carrying linalool and linalyl acetate. It scents a formula, and linalool is one of the fragrance components EU labelling requires to be named separately.
