How to use
- Use the Hair Elasticity Basil Sophora Anti Hair-Loss Shampoo in place of your usual shampoo, on hair wet all the way through.
- Apply an appropriate amount to wet hair, massage gently into the scalp and hair, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
- Rinse thoroughly, then follow with your usual conditioner or treatment through the mid-lengths and ends.
- As often as you already wash. Do not pile it straight onto dry hair; a shampoo needs water in the hair to spread at all.
Does this product contain added fragrance?
Yes. The ingredient list for ODELOI Hair Elasticity Basil Sophora Anti Hair-Loss Shampoo 250ml includes Fragrance. That is the label name for an added scent blend, whose individual components are not itemised beyond any allergens the label declares separately. The full list is printed in the Ingredients section of this page.
Are any declarable fragrance allergens listed?
No. None of the 26 fragrance components that EU cosmetic labelling requires to be named individually appear on the ingredient list for ODELOI Hair Elasticity Basil Sophora Anti Hair-Loss Shampoo 250ml. They are the components most often reported as contact allergens, which is why that rule names them one by one.
Does this product contain denatured or SD alcohol?
No. The ingredient list for ODELOI Hair Elasticity Basil Sophora Anti Hair-Loss Shampoo 250ml names no denatured alcohol, SD alcohol or ethanol. Fatty alcohols such as cetyl and cetearyl alcohol are a different class of ingredient, used as emollients and thickeners, and are not counted here.
Not on the ingredient list below: denatured or SD alcohol, essential oils, silicones, parabens, sulfate surfactants, mineral oil or petrolatum and added color.

20 of 21 explained
- Water solvent
- Water is the base almost every serum, toner and cream is built on. It dissolves the water-loving ingredients and sets how light the finished texture feels. On an INCI list it is usually first, which only means it is the largest single ingredient by weight.
- Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate surfactant
- A strong anionic surfactant that foams heavily. It is a sulfate alternative in name but not in strength, and it is more common in shampoos than in facial cleansers.
- Lauryl Betaine surfactant
- Lauryl Betaine is a secondary surfactant that boosts foam and thickens a cleanser while reducing how stripping the main surfactant feels.
- Sodium Chloride thickener
- Sodium Chloride is salt. In a cleanser it thickens the liquid; in a mask or essence it balances the mineral content of the water phase. It has no active role.
- Glycerin humectant
- Glycerin is the most used humectant in skincare. It draws water into the outer layer of skin and holds it there, and it is one of the very few ingredients whose hydrating effect is settled science rather than marketing. Higher amounts feel tacky, which is why it is usually blended.
- Caffeine active
- Caffeine constricts small blood vessels near the surface, which is why eye products use it for the look of puffiness and shadow. It is water soluble and works only while it is on the skin.
- Potassium Cocoate surfactant
- Potassium Cocoate is coconut oil turned into soap. It cleanses strongly and sits at a high pH, which is what gives a traditional soap-style cleanser its squeaky finish.
- Rheum Palmatum Root Extract plant extract
- Chinese rhubarb root extract. The root carries anthraquinones and tannins, giving it an astringent character, and it can tint a formula yellow.
- Magnolia Officinalis Bark Extract plant extract
- Magnolia bark extract, carrying magnolol and honokiol. It resists microbes as well as conditioning, so it often forms part of a preservative system.
- Sophora Angustifolia Root Extract plant extract
- Gosam root extract, a bitter traditional Korean herbal root. It is used as a conditioning extract, usually in blends aimed at the look of congested skin.
- Pulsatilla Koreana Extract plant extract
- Korean pasque flower extract, a native anemone relative. It is used as a conditioning plant extract, usually beside other Korean herbal extracts.
- Morus Alba Leaf Extract plant extract
- White mulberry leaf extract, the leaf silkworms are fed on. It carries flavonoids and is used as a conditioning antioxidant extract.
8 more explained
- Dipropylene Glycol humectant
- Dipropylene Glycol is a glycol used as a solvent and a light humectant. Its main job is keeping the rest of the formula dissolved and the texture fluid rather than adding hydration of its own.
- Citric Acid pH adjuster
- Citric Acid is used in tiny amounts to bring a formula to the pH its actives need, not as an exfoliant at that level. It is an AHA, so at much higher concentrations it can also exfoliate.
- Sodium Citrate pH adjuster
- Sodium Citrate is the salt of citric acid, used as a buffer: it holds a formula at a steady pH rather than pushing it in one direction. It is also a mild chelator.
- Polyquaternium-10 film former
- A cellulose polymer carrying a positive charge. It deposits from a rinse-off formula onto hair or skin and leaves a smooth, anti-static film.
- Disodium EDTA chelator
- EDTA is a chelator: it locks up trace metal ions from water and packaging that would otherwise turn a formula cloudy, off-colour or rancid. It does nothing to skin and appears at a fraction of a percent.
- 1,2-Hexanediol humectant
- 1,2-Hexanediol is a glycol used for two reasons: it holds water like glycerin, and it makes a formula harder for microbes to live in, so less traditional preservative is needed. Korean formulas use it heavily for that second reason.
- Hydroxyacetophenone preservative booster
- Hydroxyacetophenone is an antioxidant that also strengthens a preservative system, so a formula needs less traditional preservative. Korean formulas pair it with 1,2-hexanediol constantly.
- Fragrance fragrance
- Fragrance, or Parfum, is a single declaration standing for a whole scent blend, which can be dozens of materials. Regulators allow it as a trade secret, so a list showing only this word does not say what the scent is made of. It is the most common trigger named by people with reactive skin.
