How it works
A hydrogel mask is a heavier, more rubbery sheet than a paper one, and the weight is why it clings rather than sliding as you move around. That contact is the mechanism: the sheet holds a large dose of liquid flat against the skin and stops it evaporating for the twenty minutes it stays on. No amount of toner pressed in by hand matches that. Being single use, this is an occasional step you reach for before something rather than a nightly habit. Judge it on how the face looks an hour after the sheet comes off.
How to use
- Cleanse and apply your toner first, so the mask is going onto damp skin rather than bare skin.
- Peel the sheet from its backing carefully and smooth it flat from the centre of the face outward.
- Leave it on for fifteen to twenty minutes, then remove it and press what remains into the skin.
- Do not leave it on until it dries out, because a drying sheet starts taking moisture back off the skin.
What is a hydrogel mask?

How long do I leave it on?
Fifteen to twenty minutes is the useful window. Taking it off while it still feels wet is important, because a drying sheet begins pulling moisture back off the face rather than adding any.
Do I rinse afterwards?
No. Press the remaining liquid into the skin with flat hands, then continue with your serum and moisturiser. If the finish feels tacky it settles within a couple of minutes.
When should I use it?
The evening before an event or a photograph is the classic use, and after a long flight is the other one. It is an occasional step rather than a nightly one. Once a week is plenty.

After cleansing and toner, before your serum and moisturiser. The mask replaces neither of those. Once you remove it, press the leftover liquid in and finish the routine as usual.
