Barrier support and sensitive skin

A compromised barrier behaves in a specific and recognisable way. Water leaves faster than it should, so skin feels tight within minutes of cleansing. Things that never used to sting now sting, because the outermost layer is no longer keeping them out. Redness lingers. Moisturiser seems to vanish. Almost everyone in this state reaches for another active, and almost everyone is wrong to.

The rebuild is boring and it works: stop the actives, cleanse with something that does not strip, and rebuild with the three things the barrier is actually made of: lipids in roughly physiological ratio, humectants to hold water underneath them, and an occlusive layer to slow the loss while the rest catches up. Korean formulation is unusually good at this step, partly because the market has spent a decade optimising for a light occlusive finish that people will actually wear, and partly because centella and panthenol have been house ingredients there far longer than they have been trend ingredients here.

This is the deepest section of our catalogue by a wide margin, and it is where the Korean-market advantage is most obvious on the skin rather than on the label: the same barrier chemistry, in a texture you do not resent putting on.
