Shipping, duties and what a Korean skincare order costs now

The rules that made cheap direct-from-Korea orders possible ended in 2026. What replaced them, and what it means for a basket.

For years the economics of buying Korean skincare in America rested on two things: brands and marketplaces shipping directly from Korea, and a customs exemption that let small parcels enter duty-free. Both ended. Olive Young Global stopped shipping to the United States in May 2026, and the de minimis exemption that made a forty-dollar parcel duty-free was removed. A direct order from Korea now arrives slowly, or with a customs bill, or not at all.

That is the reason a US-warehoused route exists at all. Stock lands here once, in bulk, with duty paid at the border by us rather than collected from you at the door, so what you are quoted is what you pay, and a package moves domestically in days rather than crossing an ocean and a customs queue. It is a less exotic supply chain and a much better one to be on the receiving end of.

Duty rates on Korean-origin goods are live policy and under litigation, so we do not quote a rate as though it were permanent. What we can commit to is the shape: prices shown include duties, domestic shipping is fast, and there are no surprise charges on delivery.
