How it works
The Light On Serum: Centella + Vita C is Beauty of Joseon's serum, built around Panthenol and Beta-Glucan. That derivative form is chosen over plain ascorbic acid because it is more stable and gentler for daily use, which is why the serum is positioned for skin that wants brightening without the sting some pure vitamin C formulas bring. Panthenol and bisabolol sit further down the list to calm as the two brightening ingredients work, and beta-glucan adds a moisture-binding layer behind them. The silky, fast-absorbing texture is built to sit under sunscreen without pilling, making it an AM or PM serum step aimed at dullness and uneven tone.
Key benefits
- Centella extract is the first ingredient, ethyl ascorbic acid the second
- A stabilized vitamin C derivative chosen for gentle daily use
- Bisabolol and panthenol calm as it brightens
- Silky texture that sits well under sunscreen

Beauty of Joseon Light On Serum: Centella + Vita C
What form of vitamin C does this serum use?
It uses 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, a stabilized derivative of vitamin C, rather than plain ascorbic acid. That form is second on the ingredient list, right behind centella asiatica extract, and is chosen for being gentler on daily use than pure ascorbic acid can be.
What calms the formula alongside the vitamin C?
Panthenol and bisabolol both sit on the ingredient list to soothe as the centella and vitamin C work on tone. Beta-glucan follows further down the list to add a moisture-binding layer to the same calming profile.
Can I wear sunscreen over this serum?
Yes. The formula's silky, fast-absorbing texture is built to sit under sunscreen without pilling, which is the standard AM placement for a vitamin C serum. Pairing a vitamin C step with daily sunscreen is also the routine most Korean brightening formulas are designed around.
Does this serum contain fragrance?
No parfum or fragrance ingredient appears on this serum's own ingredient list. The comfort in the formula comes from panthenol and bisabolol rather than an added scent, which suits daily use for anyone who avoids scented brightening products.
How can I confirm this is the authentic Korean-market Beauty of Joseon formula, not a US reformulation?
Beauty of Joseon verifies its products by sourcing chain rather than a scan, because the brand has retired its own QR verification and is phasing out its authenticity seal. Your unit arrives with its Korean-market barcode and batch code intact, not swapped for an export label, and we publish exactly where we buy. That intact packaging is the record the brand itself points to now that its earlier scan-based check is gone.

How to use
- Use the Light On Serum: Centella + Vita C after toner and before moisturizer, morning and evening.
- Three or four drops covers the whole face. Press it in with flat palms instead of rubbing it around.
- Toner first so the surface is damp, then this, then about a minute before your moisturizer goes over the top.
- Twice a day, every day. Do not stack it with a second serum of the same kind; two hydrating serums in one routine do the work of one.
Worth knowing
- Patch-test on a small area first if you are new to this formula or to the brand.
- Centella Asiatica Extract and this formula's other named actives are new to your skin the first time you use it, so introduce it a few times a week before moving to daily use if your skin runs sensitive.
