How to use
- Use the Nose-shine Boy Black Edition as your first step, morning and evening, on skin wet with lukewarm water.
- Apply a moderate amount to a damp face, focusing on areas with blackheads. Massage gently for 20 to 30 seconds, then add water to create a rich foam. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Can be used before or after cleansing.
- Rinse and tone while skin is still damp. Everything after this lands on bare skin, so it decides what the rest of the routine is working with.
- Twice a day, every day. Do not stretch the massage past a minute or finish with hot water; both leave the surface feeling tight rather than clean.
Does this product contain added fragrance?
No. Neither fragrance nor parfum appears on the ingredient list for Belif Nose-shine Boy Black Edition 30ml. Those are the two names a cosmetic label uses for an added scent blend, so a formula carrying one would name it. The full list is printed in the Ingredients section of this page.
Does this product contain essential oils?
Yes. The ingredient list for Belif Nose-shine Boy Black Edition 30ml includes Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil and Vetiveria Zizanoides Root Oil. Aromatic plant oils are listed under their botanical name rather than as fragrance, so they are named separately from any fragrance or parfum entry.
Are any declarable fragrance allergens listed?
No. None of the 26 fragrance components that EU cosmetic labelling requires to be named individually appear on the ingredient list for Belif Nose-shine Boy Black Edition 30ml. They are the components most often reported as contact allergens, which is why that rule names them one by one.
Does this product contain denatured or SD alcohol?
No. The ingredient list for Belif Nose-shine Boy Black Edition 30ml names no denatured alcohol, SD alcohol or ethanol. Fatty alcohols such as cetyl and cetearyl alcohol are a different class of ingredient, used as emollients and thickeners, and are not counted here.
Not on the ingredient list below: fragrance or parfum, denatured or SD alcohol, silicones, parabens, sulfate surfactants and mineral oil or petrolatum.

- Water solvent
- Water is the base almost every serum, toner and cream is built on. It dissolves the water-loving ingredients and sets how light the finished texture feels. On an INCI list it is usually first, which only means it is the largest single ingredient by weight.
- Glycerin humectant
- Glycerin is the most used humectant in skincare. It draws water into the outer layer of skin and holds it there, and it is one of the very few ingredients whose hydrating effect is settled science rather than marketing. Higher amounts feel tacky, which is why it is usually blended.
- Charcoal Powder absorbent
- Activated charcoal, a very porous carbon powder. Its surface binds oil and pigment, and it is what makes a mask or cleanser black.
- Polyethylene thickener
- Polyethylene in a formula is a wax-like polymer used to thicken oils and set sticks. It is the same polymer family as plastic film, in a soft grade.
- Cocamidopropyl Betaine surfactant
- Cocamidopropyl Betaine is a coconut-derived secondary surfactant. Its job is to boost foam and soften the harshness of the main cleanser rather than to clean on its own.
- Acrylates Copolymer film former
- Acrylates Copolymer is a synthetic polymer that forms a film as the water leaves. It holds a formula in place, controls shine and helps a texture stay put.
- Sodium Chloride thickener
- Sodium Chloride is salt. In a cleanser it thickens the liquid; in a mask or essence it balances the mineral content of the water phase. It has no active role.
- 1,2-Hexanediol humectant
- 1,2-Hexanediol is a glycol used for two reasons: it holds water like glycerin, and it makes a formula harder for microbes to live in, so less traditional preservative is needed. Korean formulas use it heavily for that second reason.
- Salicylic Acid exfoliant
- Salicylic Acid is a BHA, and the only common exfoliant that is oil soluble, so it can work inside a pore rather than only on the surface. It loosens the dead cells that block pores and is used for the look of congested, oily skin.
- Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate surfactant
- Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate is an amino-acid-derived cleansing surfactant. It lifts oil and makeup at a pH close to skin's own, which is why it replaced sulfates in gentle cleansers.
- Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil fragrance component
- Sweet Orange Peel Oil is a citrus essential oil carrying limonene. It scents a formula, and limonene is one of the components EU labelling names separately.
- Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Oil fragrance component
- Camel grass oil, a lemongrass relative. It is an essential oil used to scent a formula.
5 more explained
- Citric Acid pH adjuster
- Citric Acid is used in tiny amounts to bring a formula to the pH its actives need, not as an exfoliant at that level. It is an AHA, so at much higher concentrations it can also exfoliate.
- Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil fragrance component
- Eucalyptus Leaf Oil is an essential oil carrying eucalyptol. It scents a formula sharply and gives a cooling sensation.
- Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil fragrance component
- Pelargonium Graveolens is rose geranium. Its flower oil is an essential oil used to scent a formula, carrying citronellol and geraniol.
- Disodium EDTA chelator
- EDTA is a chelator: it locks up trace metal ions from water and packaging that would otherwise turn a formula cloudy, off-colour or rancid. It does nothing to skin and appears at a fraction of a percent.
- CI 77499 colorant
- Iron Oxides are mineral pigments in red, yellow and black, and the three are blended to make every skin-tone shade in a tinted product. They are inert and sit on the surface.
