How it works

The Pore Perfecting Collagen Peptide Serum is a 30ml serum, used after toner and before moisturizer, morning and evening. The peptide it is built around is Tripeptide-1, named fortieth on its own ingredient list. The same list carries Niacinamide, Allantoin and Adenosine, so the peptide is not the only thing on it worth naming. How much of the Tripeptide-1 stays on the skin, and for how long, is decided by the serum format rather than by the list alone. This is the Original Korean Formula, the serum Biodance sells in Korea, Tripeptide-1 and all.

Key benefits

  • Tripeptide-1, the peptide this serum is built around
  • Niacinamide, Allantoin and Adenosine on the same list, actives
  • Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 on the same list, a peptide
  • Copper Tripeptide-1 and Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 further down the same list
  • sh-Oligopeptide-1 and Pentapeptide-4 further down the same list
  • Tripeptide-1 named fortieth on the manufacturer list printed on this page

Key actives

Tripeptide-1peptide

Tripeptide-1 is the copper-free version of the classic three-amino-acid peptide. It is used for the look of firmness in formulas that avoid copper's blue tint. The name on the box points at it, and it is named fortieth on this serum's own ingredient list.

Niacinamideactive

Niacinamide is vitamin B3, and it is the most studied active in Korean formulation. It is named sixth on this serum's list, alongside Tripeptide-1.

Allantoinactive

Allantoin is a comfrey-derived compound used to condition skin and soften the outer layer so it feels smoother. It is one of the standard additions to a formula built for easily irritated skin. It is named tenth on this serum's list, alongside Tripeptide-1.

Adenosineactive

Adenosine is a nucleoside that Korea's own cosmetic authority recognises as a wrinkle-care functional ingredient, which is why it appears on so many Korean lists at a low level. It is used for the look of fine lines and is stable and well tolerated. The panel names it fifteenth on this serum's list, beside Tripeptide-1.

Acetyl Hexapeptide-8peptide

Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 is a six-amino-acid peptide used for the look of expression lines, particularly around the eyes. It is the peptide sold under the name Argireline and is water soluble and stable. It is named forty-first on this serum's list, alongside Tripeptide-1.

How to use

  1. Use the Pore Perfecting Collagen Peptide Serum after your toner and before your moisturizer, morning and evening.
  2. Two or three drops for the whole face, pressed in with the flats of your fingers while skin is still damp.
  3. Follow with a moisturizer within a minute or two, because a thin serum left bare dries down and takes surface water with it.
  4. Twice a day, every day, and give it four weeks. Do not stack a second serum on top in the same layer while you are judging it.

Worth knowing

  • Patch test this serum on a small area and wait a day before using it more widely, especially with Tripeptide-1 on the list.
  • Introduce this serum on its own for the first week, so anything your skin does is traceable to the Tripeptide-1 rather than to three changes at once.
