How it works

The Hyaluronic Tox Boosting Ampoule is a 30ml ampoule, used after toner and before moisturizer, morning and evening. The humectant it is built around is Sodium Hyaluronate, named seventeenth on its own ingredient list. The same list carries Niacinamide, Adenosine and Lactobacillus Extracellular Vesicles, so the humectant is not the only thing on it worth naming. How much of the Sodium Hyaluronate stays on the skin, and for how long, is decided by the ampoule format rather than by the list alone. This is the Original Korean Formula, the ampoule Centellian24 sells in Korea, Sodium Hyaluronate and all.

Key benefits

  • Sodium Hyaluronate, the humectant this ampoule is built around
  • Niacinamide and Adenosine on the same list, actives
  • Lactobacillus Extracellular Vesicles on the same list, a ferment
  • BHT on the same list, an antioxidant
  • Tocopherol and Ceramide NP further down the same list
  • Soluble Proteoglycan and Beta-Glucan further down the same list

Key actives

Sodium Hyaluronatehumectant

Sodium Hyaluronate is the salt of hyaluronic acid, and it is what most products labelled hyaluronic actually contain. The salt dissolves more readily and the molecule is smaller, so it sits in the outer layer of skin rather than only on top of it. It is the entry this ampoule is named after, and the list carries it.

Niacinamideactive

Niacinamide is vitamin B3, and it is the most studied active in Korean formulation. It is named eighth on this ampoule's list, alongside Sodium Hyaluronate.

Adenosineactive

Adenosine is a nucleoside that Korea's own cosmetic authority recognises as a wrinkle-care functional ingredient, which is why it appears on so many Korean lists at a low level. It is used for the look of fine lines and is stable and well tolerated. The panel names it eighteenth on this ampoule's list, beside Sodium Hyaluronate.

Lactobacillus Extracellular Vesiclesferment

Lactobacillus Extracellular Vesicles are the tiny membrane-bound packets bacteria release. They are a recent Korean formulation ingredient used as a conditioning ferment component. It is named thirty-fourth on this ampoule's list, alongside Sodium Hyaluronate.

BHTantioxidant

BHT is a synthetic antioxidant used in traces to stop the oils in a formula going rancid. It protects the product, not the skin. It is named thirty-third on this ampoule's list, alongside Sodium Hyaluronate.

How to use

  1. Use it after toner and before moisturizer, morning and evening, on damp skin.
  2. A thin layer pressed in with flat palms while the toner underneath is still wet.
  3. Follow with a cream, because hyaluronates on a bare surface dry out rather than staying put.
  4. Twice a day. Do not use it on a dry face with nothing over the top.

Worth knowing

  • Patch test this ampoule on a small area and wait a day before using it more widely, especially with Sodium Hyaluronate on the list.
  • Introduce this ampoule on its own for the first week, so anything your skin does is traceable to the Sodium Hyaluronate rather than to three changes at once.
