How it works

The Madeca Acnience Spot Ampoule is a 15ml ampoule, used after toner and before moisturizer, morning and evening. The active it is built around is Niacinamide, named sixth on its own ingredient list. The same list carries Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Adenosine and Asiaticoside, so the active is not the only thing on it worth naming. How much of the Niacinamide stays on the skin, and for how long, is decided by the ampoule format rather than by the list alone. Centellian24 sells this Niacinamide ampoule in Korea, and this is that version.

Key benefits

  • Niacinamide, the active this ampoule is built around
  • Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Adenosine, Asiaticoside and Madecassic Acid on the same list, actives
  • Asiatic Acid and Allantoin further down the same list
  • Gluconolactone and Yeast Ferment Extract further down the same list
  • Niacinamide named sixth on the manufacturer list printed on this page

Key actives

Niacinamideactive

Niacinamide is vitamin B3, and it is the most studied active in Korean formulation. On this ampoule's own ingredient list it is named sixth.

Dipotassium Glycyrrhizateactive

Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate is a water-soluble salt derived from licorice root. It is named forty-sixth on this ampoule's list, alongside Niacinamide.

Adenosineactive

Adenosine is a nucleoside that Korea's own cosmetic authority recognises as a wrinkle-care functional ingredient, which is why it appears on so many Korean lists at a low level. It is used for the look of fine lines and is stable and well tolerated. It is named forty-seventh on this ampoule's list, alongside Niacinamide.

Asiaticosideactive

Asiaticoside is one of the four active triterpenes isolated from centella and the most studied of them. Korean formulas name it separately when they want to show which fraction of the plant they standardised. It is named fifty-third on this ampoule's list, alongside Niacinamide.

Madecassic Acidactive

Madecassic Acid is the fourth centella triterpene. A list that names all four is telling you the extract was standardised rather than simply pressed, which is the difference between a cica claim and a cica formula. The panel names it fifty-fourth on this ampoule's list, beside Niacinamide.

How to use

  1. Use it in the evening after toner, on the congested areas or across the whole face.
  2. A drop pressed onto each area; it is thin enough to spread over the face if you prefer.
  3. Let it settle before your moisturizer goes over the top of it.
  4. Every evening. Keep it off broken skin, and do not stack it with a scrub in the same routine.

Worth knowing

  • Patch test this ampoule on a small area and wait a day before using it more widely, especially with Niacinamide on the list.
  • This list names Citronellol, Limonene and Linalool, so skip it if fragrance components are something you avoid.
  • Gluconolactone on this list makes this ampoule an exfoliating step, so do not stack it with another one on the same night.
