How it works

An ampoule that is mostly water is bought for what it carries rather than for weight, and this one carries centella asiatica extract with madecassoside, allantoin and panthenol. It goes on after toner and before moisturizer, morning and evening, on skin that is still damp. Skin that reads warm and patchy rather than simply dry is the case it fits, and a heavier cream on its own does not answer that. It is thin enough to layer under another serum if the routine already has one. Twice a day, and the cream over the top is what holds it there.

Key benefits

  • Centella asiatica extract is the second ingredient on the list
  • Madecassoside deepens the centella story
  • Panthenol and allantoin comfort a stressed-feeling barrier
  • Absorbs fast with no tack, even on blemish-prone skin

How to use

  1. Use the Hydrium Centella Aqua Soothing Ampoule after toner and before moisturizer, morning and evening.
  2. A few drops pressed over the face, keeping clear of the eyelids and the corners of the mouth.
  3. Toner first, this second, then moisturizer while the layer underneath is still damp.
  4. Twice a day. Do not add it to a routine with a new exfoliating acid in the same week if skin is already flushed.
