How it works
A serum for reactive skin has to work without adding anything the skin then has to cope with, which usually means a short formula and a light texture. This is the cica serum in COSRX's Pure Fit line, the range built for skin that reacts, and it goes on after toner and before moisturizer. Skin that looks patchy and feels warm rather than dry is the case it fits, and it is mild enough for a week when a stronger routine has been paused. Pressed in with flat palms on damp skin is how a thin serum goes on without waste. Twice a day, every day, with a cream over the top.
How to use
- Use the Pure Fit Cica Serum after toner and before moisturizer, morning and evening, on damp skin.
- Three or four drops covers the face. Press it in with flat palms instead of rubbing it around.
- Toner first, this second, then moisturizer over the top while the layer underneath is still damp.
- Twice a day, every day. Do not add a new acid or retinoid in the same week if skin is already reacting.

- Centella Asiatica is the plant behind the whole cica category, sold as gotu kola or Madagascar centella. Its extract is the anchor of Korean formulas built for easily reddened skin, and its work is done by four triterpenes: asiaticoside, madecassoside, asiatic acid and madecassic acid.
- Butylene Glycol humectant
- Butylene Glycol is a small glycol that does two jobs at once: it holds water in the top layer of skin and it dissolves plant extracts and actives that plain water cannot. It also thins a formula, which is why watery Korean essences lean on it.
- Glycerin humectant
