Waterfull Mild Sun Cream 50ml
Waterfull Mild Sun Cream is d'Alba's sun cream (50ml). It is used as the last step of a morning routine, before makeup. This is over-labeled in English for US sale rather than reformulated for the US market.

How it works
Waterfull Mild Sun Cream is a sun cream from d'Alba. d'Alba's catalog centers on one repeated house ingredient, named directly in most of its product titles, carried across serums, creams, oils and sun care under one Piedmont-sourced line. Texture and placement do the work here: a sun cream is defined by where it sits in a routine and how it feels going on, not by a single named active on this listing. Use it as the last step of a morning routine, before makeup. d'Alba sells this as the Korean-market formula, the same one stocked on shelves in Korea rather than a version built for the US market.
Key benefits
- Waterfull Mild Sun Cream is d'Alba's sun cream, 50ml, sized for regular use rather than a trial amount
- d'Alba's wider catalog is built the same way: d'Alba's catalog centers on one repeated house ingredient, named directly in most of its product titles, carried across serums, creams, oils and sun care under one Piedmont-sourced line
- Waterfull Mild Sun Cream fits as the last step of a morning routine, before makeup
- d'Alba's Waterfull Mild Sun Cream is sold here as the Korean-market formula: the same formula Korean shoppers buy off the shelf in Seoul, not a version built for US retail
- Waterfull Mild Sun Cream keeps the Korean barcode and batch code that print on the unit sold on shelves in Korea
How to use
- Smooth over the face as the last step of a morning routine.
What is Waterfull Mild Sun Cream?
It is d'Alba's sun cream (50ml), part of d'Alba's Korean-market catalog. It is used as the last step of a morning routine, before makeup, and it is sold here as the same formula stocked on shelves in Korea.
Is Waterfull Mild Sun Cream the authentic Korean-market formula?
Yes. This listing is d'Alba's Korean-market formula: the same ingredient list, barcode and batch code as the unit sold on shelves in Korea, rather than a version reformulated for US retail. That is the whole reason to buy a Korean-market brand from a specialist rather than a general retailer.
Who is Waterfull Mild Sun Cream suited for?
It is not restricted to any one skin tone or age group. As with any new step, patch-test on the inner arm first if you are new to this formula or to d'Alba.
Not on the ingredient list below: fragrance or parfum, denatured or SD alcohol, parabens, sulfate surfactants and mineral oil or petrolatum.

51 of 58 explained
- Water solvent
- Water is the base almost every serum, toner and cream is built on. It dissolves the water-loving ingredients and sets how light the finished texture feels. On an INCI list it is usually first, which only means it is the largest single ingredient by weight.
- C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate emollient
- C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate is a light ester emollient and solvent. It gives a silky finish, dissolves pigments and UV filters, and mildly discourages microbial growth.
- Benzotriazolyl Dodecyl P-Cresol antioxidant
- A light stabiliser. Its job is to keep the formula itself from degrading in light, so it is a product-stability ingredient rather than one aimed at skin.
- Propanediol humectant
- Propanediol is a plant-derived glycol used in place of propylene glycol. It hydrates, carries actives into solution, and gives a lighter, less sticky slip than glycerin at the same strength.
- Butyloctyl Salicylate emollient
- Butyloctyl Salicylate is an ester used as a solvent and emollient, particularly for dissolving powdered ingredients evenly. Despite the salicylate name it is not an exfoliant.
- Caprylyl Methicone silicone
- Caprylyl Methicone is a silicone with a fatty tail, so it mixes with plant oils as well as with silicones. It gives a dry slip and helps disperse powders.
- 1,2-Hexanediol humectant
- 1,2-Hexanediol is a glycol used for two reasons: it holds water like glycerin, and it makes a formula harder for microbes to live in, so less traditional preservative is needed. Korean formulas use it heavily for that second reason.
- Polymethylsilsesquioxane silicone
- Polymethylsilsesquioxane is a silicone resin in fine sphere form. It soft-focuses the look of pores and lines and gives a smooth, powdery finish.
- Polyhydroxystearic Acid dispersant
- A polymer of hydroxystearic acid whose whole job is keeping mineral powders and pigments evenly suspended in oil instead of settling or streaking.
- Pentylene Glycol humectant
- Pentylene Glycol hydrates and, like the other longer-chain glycols, makes a formula less hospitable to microbes so the preservative system can be lighter. It also improves how evenly a product spreads.
- Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract plant extract
- Melia Azadirachta is neem. Its leaf and flower extracts are long-standing Ayurvedic ingredients, and Korean formulas use them in products aimed at the look of congested, blemish-prone skin.
- Curcuma Longa (turmeric) Root Extract plant extract
- Turmeric Root Extract carries curcuminoids, well studied plant antioxidants. It is used for the look of dullness and uneven tone, and it tints a formula faintly yellow.
39 more explained
- Ocimum Sanctum Leaf Extract plant extract
- Ocimum Sanctum is holy basil, or tulsi. Its leaf extract carries plant antioxidants and is used in formulas built for the look of stressed, reactive skin.
- Corallina Officinalis Extract plant extract
- Corallina Officinalis is coral seaweed, which holds calcium and magnesium in its structure. Its extract is used as a mineral-rich conditioning ingredient.
- Cardiospermum Halicacabum Flower/Leaf/Vine Extract plant extract
- Balloon vine extract, taken from the whole climbing plant. It is one of the plant extracts formulas built for reactive, itchy-feeling skin lean on.
- Portulaca Oleracea Extract plant extract
- Portulaca Oleracea is purslane. Its extract is unusually high in omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants for a plant, and Korean formulas use it for the look of reddened, reactive skin.
- Centella Asiatica Extract plant extract
- Centella Asiatica is the plant behind the whole cica category, sold as gotu kola or Madagascar centella. Its extract is the anchor of Korean formulas built for easily reddened skin, and its work is done by four triterpenes: asiaticoside, madecassoside, asiatic acid and madecassic acid.
- Hamamelis Virginiana (witch Hazel) Extract plant extract
- Witch hazel extract, the classic astringent plant. Its tannins bind to surface proteins, which is the tightening feel a toner built on it gives.
- Saccharum Officinarum (sugarcane) Extract plant extract
- Sugarcane Extract carries natural glycolic acid and sugars. In cosmetics it is used as a humectant; the acid content is far too low to work as an exfoliant.
- Houttuynia Cordata Extract plant extract
- Houttuynia Cordata is heartleaf, and it is one of the two or three anchor plants of Korean calming skincare. Its extract carries quercitrin and other flavonoids and is used for the look of redness and blemish-prone skin.
- Leontopodium Alpinum Extract plant extract
- Edelweiss extract, from a plant that survives high-altitude sun and cold. It carries leontopodic acid and is used as a plant antioxidant.
- Chamaecyparis Obtusa Leaf Extract plant extract
- Chamaecyparis Obtusa is hinoki cypress. Its leaf extract carries aromatic plant compounds and is used in Korean formulas aimed at oily, congested skin.
- Tuber Magnatum Extract plant extract
- White truffle extract. It carries amino acids, sterols and polysaccharides and is used as a conditioning extract.
- Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (orange) Oil fragrance component
- Sweet Orange Peel Oil is a citrus essential oil carrying limonene. It scents a formula, and limonene is one of the components EU labelling names separately.
- Citrus Nobilis (mandarin Orange) Peel Oil fragrance component
- Mandarin peel oil, an essential oil pressed from the rind. It scents a formula, and citrus peel oils are among the essential oils most likely to bother reactive skin.
- Litsea Cubeba Fruit Oil fragrance
- May chang oil, a bright lemon-scented essential oil pressed from a small Asian tree. Its scent comes mostly from citral, the same aromatic that gives lemongrass its character.
- Echium Plantagineum Seed Oil emollient
- Echium seed oil, one of the few plant oils carrying stearidonic acid. It is a light oil used to soften skin.
- Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water plant extract
- Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water is green tea distillate used in place of plain water as a base. It is far more dilute than the extract, so it sets the base rather than supplying the antioxidants.
- Betula Platyphylla Japonica Juice plant extract
- Betula Platyphylla Japonica Juice is Asian white birch sap, tapped in spring. It is over 98 percent water with trace minerals and sugars, and Korean formulas use it in place of plain water as a hydrating base.
- Cananga Odorata Flower Oil fragrance
- Ylang ylang oil, a heavy sweet floral essential oil. It is among the most commonly declared natural fragrance materials.
- Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride emollient
- Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is the light fraction of coconut oil, with the heavy parts removed. It is the workhorse emollient of modern formulas: it softens skin, dissolves oil-soluble actives and absorbs without the greasy weight of a whole plant oil.
- Alumina absorbent
- Alumina is aluminium oxide, a hard white mineral powder. It is used to coat pigments so they disperse evenly and, ground fine, as a mild polishing grain.
- Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Vp Copolymer thickener
- This is a synthetic thickener that gels quickly and holds an emulsion stable across a wide pH range. It gives a light, non-tacky body.
- Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6 thickener
- Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6 is a thickener chosen for a notably fresh, bouncy gel feel that breaks down to water on the skin.
- Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose Stearoxy Ether thickener
- Modified cellulose with a fatty stearyl chain added, so it thickens and emulsifies at once. It gives a cushioned, slightly bouncy gel texture.
- Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate emulsifier
- Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate is an amino-acid-derived emulsifier. It holds oil and water together and is mild enough for formulas built for reactive skin.
- Ethylhexylglycerin preservative booster
- Ethylhexylglycerin softens skin and boosts a preservative system, which is why it is nearly always sitting beside phenoxyethanol or 1,2-hexanediol. It also cuts down the odour bacteria produce, so it turns up in deodorising products.
- Octyldodecanol emollient
- Octyldodecanol is a branched fatty alcohol used as an emollient and as a solvent for pigments and mineral powders. It thickens slightly and leaves a soft finish.
- Stearic Acid fatty acid
- Stearic Acid is a saturated fatty acid from plant fats, and one of the three lipid classes skin's own barrier is built from. In a formula it thickens, stabilises the emulsion and can be turned into a soap-style cleanser by adding a base.
- T-Butyl Alcohol solvent
- t-Butyl Alcohol is the bittering agent added to cosmetic ethanol so it cannot be drunk. It appears in tiny amounts alongside alcohol denat. and does no formulation work of its own.
- Allantoin active
- Allantoin is a comfrey-derived compound used to condition skin and soften the outer layer so it feels smoother. It is one of the standard additions to a formula built for easily irritated skin.
- Helianthus Annuus (sunflower) Seed Oil Unsaponifiables emollient
- The fraction of sunflower oil that cannot be turned into soap, which is where its sterols and vitamin E concentrate. It softens skin and helps hold water in.
- Glycerin humectant
- Glycerin is the most used humectant in skincare. It draws water into the outer layer of skin and holds it there, and it is one of the very few ingredients whose hydrating effect is settled science rather than marketing. Higher amounts feel tacky, which is why it is usually blended.
- Tocopherol antioxidant
- Tocopherol is vitamin E. It is an oil-soluble antioxidant that protects the oils in a formula from going rancid and works on skin as an emollient, and it is regularly paired with vitamin C because each keeps the other going for longer.
- Madecassoside active
- Madecassoside is the centella triterpene most associated with the look of redness, and the one brands lead with in cica products. It is water soluble and stable, so it appears in essences as readily as in creams.
- Betaine humectant
- Betaine is a sugar-beet-derived humectant that cells use to hold water. In a formula it hydrates and takes the edge off cleansers and acids, which is why it often appears alongside them.
- Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid humectant
- Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid is hyaluronic acid cut into much shorter fragments. The smaller the fragment, the further into the outer layer it can settle, which is why serums stack several sizes together instead of using one.
- Butylene Glycol humectant
- Butylene Glycol is a small glycol that does two jobs at once: it holds water in the top layer of skin and it dissolves plant extracts and actives that plain water cannot. It also thins a formula, which is why watery Korean essences lean on it.
- Beta-Glucan polysaccharide
- Beta-Glucan is a polysaccharide from oats or yeast. It holds a large amount of water, forms a soothing film, and is one of the ingredients formulators reach for in products aimed at reactive skin.
- Limonene fragrance component
- Limonene is the citrus-peel aromatic. It appears here because EU labelling requires 26 fragrance components to be named individually rather than hidden inside "fragrance", and it is one of them.
- Citral fragrance component
- Citral is a sharp lemon aromatic found in lemongrass and citrus oils. It is one of the 26 fragrance components EU labelling requires to be named.
