How it works

As a physical scrub, this product's job is to lift away built-up surface debris and dead skin cells that a regular cleanser passes over. Its granular texture works mechanically as you massage it in, rather than relying on an acid to dissolve buildup chemically. That mechanical action is why a light hand and a short massage time matter more here than with a foaming cleanser. Rinsing then carries the loosened debris away, leaving a smoother surface behind. Used a couple of times a week rather than daily, it works as an occasional texture step layered on top of a regular cleansing routine.

Key benefits

  • ETUDE Korean-market pore scrub, 200 g
  • An occasional exfoliating step, used a couple of times a week rather than as a daily cleanser
  • Ships with its Korean barcode and batch code intact, not swapped for an export label

Key actives

Sodium Bicarbonate

First on the list, the baking soda this line is named for is the primary alkaline exfoliating ingredient in this scrub, meant to lift debris out of visibly clogged pores.

Silica

Positioned among the early texture ingredients, silica is one of two physical exfoliating particles in this scrub (paired with hydrated silica), giving the formula its gritty, pore-focused texture.

Microcrystalline Cellulose

A plant-derived exfoliating particle placed mid list, a gentler physical texture Korean scrubs use alongside silica for a polishing rather than harsh scraping feel.

Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate

A mild, coconut-derived surfactant among the later ingredients, the cleansing base that carries the physical exfoliating particles through a rinse-off scrub.

How to use

  1. Wet the face with lukewarm water, rather than rushing through this step.
  2. Take a small amount and massage gently over the face in circular motions.
  3. Focus on the T-zone and other areas prone to congestion, avoiding the eye area.
  4. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, rather than rushing through this step.

Worth knowing

  • Use no more than two to three times a week, since over-scrubbing can leave skin feeling raw or sensitized.
  • Avoid use over active breakouts or irritated skin.
