Soonjung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream 60ml$22.50A colour house with one very serious skincare line inside it
ETUDE is Korea's mass market colour brand and it is best known abroad for tints, palettes and the packaging that made it a lot of people's first Korean brand. The part worth knowing is SoonJung, its fragrance free line for reactive skin built on panthenol and madecassoside, which reads nothing like the rest of the range.
The 0.2 Therapy Air sheet masks are the other Korean staple on this page, sold as single ingredient variants and in ten packs, at a format and a price US retail almost never carries. Centella asiatica, madecassoside and panthenol lead the actives across the brand.
Which part of this range is worth your money?
Split it in two and shop them differently. For skincare, SoonJung is the line to read: it is built for skin that reacts, it declares itself fragrance free, and the ingredient list on each page is short enough to check that against. For colour, the tints and the palettes are the brand's own strength and the shade choice is the whole decision. Buying the colour items for their skincare claims, or the SoonJung items expecting a colour brand's finish, is how people end up disappointed by both.
What does the Korean shelf carry that the export one does not?
Depth, mostly in masks and cleansers. The sheet mask range runs to many more variants in Korea than abroad and is sold in the multipack sizes that make the per sheet price make sense, and the AC Clean Up cleansing range is carried in full rather than as one item. Every listing here is the Korean release with its barcode readable on the box.
