ETUDE HOUSE My Lash Serum Eyelash Serum 9g
Biotin is the second ingredient, straight after water, in this 9g lash serum. The list also names five parabens and two colourants, so it is an older-style Korean formula.

How it works
The HOUSE My Lash Serum Eyelash Serum is a 9g serum, used after toner and before moisturizer, morning and evening. The vitamin it is built around is Biotin, named second on its own ingredient list. The same list carries Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract and Swertia Japonica Extract, so the vitamin is not the only thing on it worth naming. How much of the Biotin stays on the skin, and for how long, is decided by the serum format rather than by the list alone. ETUDE sells this Biotin serum in Korea, and this is that version.
Key benefits
- Biotin, the vitamin this serum is built around
- Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract and Swertia Japonica Extract on the same list, plant extracts
- PEG-32 on the same list, a humectant
- Sodium Hyaluronate further down the same list
- Biotin named second on the manufacturer list printed on this page
Key actives
Biotinvitamin
Biotin is vitamin B7. In skincare it is a conditioning vitamin, most often in hair and scalp formulas. On this serum's own ingredient list it is named second.
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extractplant extract
Aloe Leaf Extract is mostly water with polysaccharides, amino acids and mild plant acids. It hydrates and leaves a light, cooling film, which is why it is the default after-sun ingredient. The panel names it sixth on this serum's list, beside Biotin.
Panax Ginseng Root Extractplant extract
Ginseng Root Extract is the signature ingredient of Korean traditional skincare, carrying ginsenosides. It is used for the look of tired, dull skin, and brands often ferment it to break the ginsenosides into smaller forms. The panel names it seventh on this serum's list, beside Biotin.
Swertia Japonica Extractplant extract
Japanese swertia extract, a bitter herb used in Korean and Japanese scalp formulas. It is a conditioning plant extract. The panel names it sixteenth on this serum's list, beside Biotin.
PEG-32humectant
PEG-32 is a longer polyethylene glycol. It is a humectant that also adds a little body to a watery formula. It is named twelfth on this serum's list, alongside Biotin.
Where does this serum go in my routine?
After toner and before moisturizer, morning and evening. Anything thinner than a serum goes on before it, and anything richer goes on after. If you are adding it to a routine you already like, give it a week on its own first, so what you see is the Biotin and not three changes at once.
What else is on the list besides Biotin?
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract and Swertia Japonica Extract. The order they are printed in on this serum's panel is the order on the box, so you can see where Biotin sits relative to them. Further down the same panel: PEG-32 and Sodium Hyaluronate.

How to use
- Use the HOUSE My Lash Serum Eyelash Serum at the end of the evening routine, on clean dry lashes.
- One pass of the applicator along the upper lash line, the way a liquid liner goes on. One coat is the dose, and a second pass over the same lashes does not add to it.
- Everything else in the routine goes on first. The lashes need to be clean and completely dry when it goes on, because eye cream, oil or leftover mascara gives it a film to sit on instead of the lash line.
- Once a day, in the evening. Do not run it along the waterline or let it into the eye itself; the base of the lashes is the closest it belongs.
Worth knowing
- Patch test this serum on a small area and wait a day before using it more widely, especially with Biotin on the list.
- Introduce this serum on its own for the first week, so anything your skin does is traceable to the Biotin rather than to three changes at once.
