LIP MATTER
An eight ingredient anhydrous lip treatment from rom&nd, led by three dimethicone forms with murumuru and mango seed butters and avocado oil behind them. No water in it, so it sits on the lip rather than sinking in.

How to use
- Use the LIP MATTER on clean lips, at any point in the day and again as the last thing before bed.
- One pass over each lip is enough, taken just past the lip line rather than well beyond it.
- It goes on last over any lip product, and on bare lips it needs nothing underneath it.
- As often as lips feel dry. Do not reapply over and over in place of drinking water; a balm holds moisture in, it does not add any.
Does this product contain added fragrance?
No. Neither fragrance nor parfum appears on the ingredient list for rom&nd LIP MATTER. Those are the two names a cosmetic label uses for an added scent blend, so a formula carrying one would name it. The full list is printed in the Ingredients section of this page.
Are any declarable fragrance allergens listed?
No. None of the 26 fragrance components that EU cosmetic labelling requires to be named individually appear on the ingredient list for rom&nd LIP MATTER. They are the components most often reported as contact allergens, which is why that rule names them one by one.
Does this product contain denatured or SD alcohol?
No. The ingredient list for rom&nd LIP MATTER names no denatured alcohol, SD alcohol or ethanol. Fatty alcohols such as cetyl and cetearyl alcohol are a different class of ingredient, used as emollients and thickeners, and are not counted here.
Not on the ingredient list below: fragrance or parfum, denatured or SD alcohol, essential oils, parabens, sulfate surfactants, mineral oil or petrolatum and added color.

8 of 8 explained
- Dimethicone silicone
- Dimethicone is the most used cosmetic silicone. It forms a breathable film that smooths the surface, slows water leaving skin, and gives the slip that makes a primer or cream feel silky. It is inert and does not penetrate.
- Dimethicone Crosspolymer silicone
- Dimethicone Crosspolymer is silicone linked into a soft, springy network. It soaks up oil, blurs the look of texture, and gives the velvety feel of a primer.
- Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer silicone
- A silicone elastomer powder. It changes how light falls on skin so texture looks softer, absorbs a little oil, and leaves a dry velvet finish.
- Tocopheryl Acetate antioxidant
- Tocopheryl Acetate is a stable vitamin E ester that skin converts to tocopherol. It is used as an antioxidant and a light emollient and holds up better than plain vitamin E in a formula.
- Dehydroacetic Acid preservative
- A preservative that works best in acidic formulas and is almost always paired with benzyl alcohol. It is one of the standard systems in products built without parabens.
- Astrocaryum Murumuru Seed Butter emollient
- Murumuru butter, pressed from the seed of an Amazonian palm. It is high in lauric and myristic acid, so it is firm at room temperature and melts on contact with skin.
- Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter emollient
- Mango seed butter, pressed from the kernel. It is a soft solid at room temperature and melts on skin, so it is used where a formula needs richness without the waxiness of shea.
- Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil emollient
- Avocado oil, rich in oleic acid and plant sterols. It is one of the heavier plant oils, which suits dry skin and cleansing balms.
