How it works
This product's own ingredient list opens with the base that carries Squalane, which sits near the top on the list. Adenosine follows mid-list, one of the formula's named working ingredients. Purified Water follows at the very top, one of the formula's named working ingredients. Methylpropanediol follows near the top, one of the formula's named working ingredients. The texture is built for that placement, layering under or over the rest of a Korean routine without disrupting it. Together these actives are why the formula suits its role as the its place in a routine, applied AM and/or PM.

Inside the formula
Inside the formula
What does Aqua Squalane Mist 100ml actually contain?
Squalane is the ingredient we lead with because it sits near the top on this product's own ingredient list, ahead of most of the rest of the formula. The full ingredient panel on this page is drawn directly from that same list, not from a marketing summary.
Where does Adenosine sit on the ingredient list?
Adenosine sits mid-list on the list, which places it among the formula's named working ingredients rather than as a trace addition at the very end. Its position on the list is one of the reasons this formula pairs it with Squalane.
How do I fit this product into a routine?
This product is meant to be used AM and/or PM, as the its place in a routine. Apply it in that order relative to the rest of a routine, giving each layer a moment to settle before the next, and give it a few weeks of consistent use before judging the result.
Is this the same formula sold in Korea, or a US version?
This is the authentic Korean-market formula for Aqua Squalane Mist 100ml, sold at retail in Korea rather than reformulated for the US shelf. S.NATURE is a Korean brand built around single-ingredient and botanical-oil formulas sourced for the Korean market.
What skin type suits this product?
It suits normal skin and dry or dehydrated skin looking for everyday hydration, used as part of a full Korean routine rather than as a standalone fix. As with any new formula, patch test first and introduce it gradually alongside what is already in a routine.
Not on the ingredient list below: fragrance or parfum, denatured or SD alcohol, essential oils, silicones, parabens, sulfate surfactants, mineral oil or petrolatum and added color.

18 of 19 explained
- Purified Water solvent
- Water is the base almost every serum, toner and cream is built on. It dissolves the water-loving ingredients and sets how light the finished texture feels. On an INCI list it is usually first, which only means it is the largest single ingredient by weight.
- Butylene Glycol humectant
- Butylene Glycol is a small glycol that does two jobs at once: it holds water in the top layer of skin and it dissolves plant extracts and actives that plain water cannot. It also thins a formula, which is why watery Korean essences lean on it.
- Glycerin humectant
- Glycerin is the most used humectant in skincare. It draws water into the outer layer of skin and holds it there, and it is one of the very few ingredients whose hydrating effect is settled science rather than marketing. Higher amounts feel tacky, which is why it is usually blended.
- Methylpropanediol humectant
- Methylpropanediol is a small glycol used to hydrate and to help water-soluble actives penetrate the outer layer of skin more evenly. It leaves almost no tack, which suits watery textures.
- Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate emulsifier
- Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate is a sugar-derived emulsifier and solubiliser, mild enough to be a standard choice in Korean essences. It dissolves small amounts of oil into water without any tightening feel.
- Squalane emollient
- Squalane is the stable, saturated version of squalene, a lipid human skin already makes. It is a light emollient that absorbs quickly, does not oxidise, and is one of the few oils widely considered safe for blemish-prone skin. Most cosmetic squalane is now from sugarcane or olive rather than shark.
- Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Leaf Extract plant extract
- Witch hazel leaf extract, taken from the leaf rather than the bark. Like the bark it carries tannins and gives an astringent feel.
- Green Tea Extract plant extract
- Camellia Sinensis is the tea plant. Green tea leaf extract carries catechins, among the most studied plant antioxidants, and is used for the look of redness and oily shine.
- Glyceryl Glucoside humectant
- Glyceryl Glucoside is glycerin bound to glucose, from the resurrection plant. It is a humectant that holds water in the outer layer of skin.
- 1,2-Hexanediol humectant
- 1,2-Hexanediol is a glycol used for two reasons: it holds water like glycerin, and it makes a formula harder for microbes to live in, so less traditional preservative is needed. Korean formulas use it heavily for that second reason.
- Adenosine active
- Adenosine is a nucleoside that Korea's own cosmetic authority recognises as a wrinkle-care functional ingredient, which is why it appears on so many Korean lists at a low level. It is used for the look of fine lines and is stable and well tolerated.
- Ethylhexylglycerin preservative booster
- Ethylhexylglycerin softens skin and boosts a preservative system, which is why it is nearly always sitting beside phenoxyethanol or 1,2-hexanediol. It also cuts down the odour bacteria produce, so it turns up in deodorising products.
6 more explained
- Hydrogenated Lecithin emulsifier
- Hydrogenated Lecithin is lecithin with its unsaturated bonds filled in, which makes it far more stable. It emulsifies and is the standard shell for the liposomes that carry actives into the outer layer of skin.
- Sodium Citrate pH adjuster
- Sodium Citrate is the salt of citric acid, used as a buffer: it holds a formula at a steady pH rather than pushing it in one direction. It is also a mild chelator.
- Succinic Acid active
- Succinic Acid is a small organic acid used for the look of blemish-prone skin and as a pH adjuster. It is far milder than an AHA at the levels used here.
- Disodium EDTA chelator
- EDTA is a chelator: it locks up trace metal ions from water and packaging that would otherwise turn a formula cloudy, off-colour or rancid. It does nothing to skin and appears at a fraction of a percent.
- Xanthan Gum thickener
- Xanthan Gum is a polysaccharide made by fermenting sugar. It thickens a watery formula into a gel and holds the whole thing in suspension so nothing separates. Too much of it and a serum turns stringy, which is why it appears in fractions of a percent.
- Hydroxyacetophenone preservative booster
- Hydroxyacetophenone is an antioxidant that also strengthens a preservative system, so a formula needs less traditional preservative. Korean formulas pair it with 1,2-hexanediol constantly.
