How it works

The panel on this ampoule names nine forms of peptide rather than one: Tripeptide-3, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Acetyl Octapeptide-3, Copper Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Tripeptide-1, Tripeptide-2. Tripeptide-3 is a three-amino-acid peptide used in multi-peptide blends. It turns up in hair and scalp formulas as often as in facial ones. On this panel it sits alongside Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract and Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate. Aloe Leaf Extract is mostly water with polysaccharides, amino acids and mild plant acids. It hydrates and leaves a light, cooling film, which is why it is the default after-sun ingredient.

Key benefits

  • Nine forms of peptide on one panel, not a single token inclusion
  • Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract on the same panel, the formula's plant extract
  • Centella Asiatica Extract on the same panel, the formula's plant extract
  • 50 ml to a unit
  • Korean-market formula, with its Korean barcode and batch code intact on the box

Key actives

5Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract

Aloe Leaf Extract is mostly water with polysaccharides, amino acids and mild plant acids. It hydrates and leaves a light, cooling film, which is why it is the default after-sun ingredient.

All products with Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract

6Centella Asiatica Extract

Centella Asiatica is the plant behind the whole cica category, sold as gotu kola or Madagascar centella. Its extract is the anchor of Korean formulas built for easily reddened skin, and its work is done by four triterpenes: asiaticoside, madecassoside, asiatic acid and madecassic acid.

All products with Centella Asiatica Extract

15Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate

Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate is a water-soluble salt derived from licorice root. It is the licorice fraction Korean formulas use for the look of redness, and it is far more stable in water than the whole extract.

All products with Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate

24Tripeptide-3

Tripeptide-3 is a three-amino-acid peptide used in multi-peptide blends. It turns up in hair and scalp formulas as often as in facial ones.

All products with Tripeptide-3

25Acetyl Hexapeptide-8

Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 is a six-amino-acid peptide used for the look of expression lines, particularly around the eyes. It is the peptide sold under the name Argireline and is water soluble and stable.

All products with Acetyl Hexapeptide-8

26Acetyl Octapeptide-3

Acetyl Octapeptide-3 is an eight-amino-acid peptide used for the look of expression lines. It is usually paired with acetyl hexapeptide-8 rather than used alone.

All products with Acetyl Octapeptide-3

27Copper Tripeptide-1

Copper Tripeptide-1 is three amino acids bound to a copper ion, and the classic firming peptide in cosmetic chemistry. It is blue in solution, which is often why a serum carrying it is tinted, and it is used for the look of firmness and fine lines.

How to use

  1. Use the Poremizing Fresh Ampoule after toner and before moisturizer, morning and evening.
  2. Half a dropper, or two or three drops, is the amount for a whole face. Press it in rather than spreading it thin.
  3. It sits between the toner and the moisturizer, and it is the layer most worth leaving alone for a minute before anything covers it.
  4. Twice a day, every day. Do not use it as a spot application on one area; an ampoule is a routine step, not a targeted dose.

Worth knowing

  • Patch test on the inner arm before a first full-face application, as with any new skincare product.
  • Introduce it into a routine one product at a time so any reaction can be traced to the right cause.
