How to use
- Use the PIT Cleansing Milk as your first step, on dry or barely damp skin, morning and evening.
- Dispense a couple of pumps onto your hands and spread evenly over dry skin. Leave on for 5 to 10 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water or wipe off with aesthetic wipes.
- Rinse with lukewarm water, or follow with a light gel cleanse in the evening, then tone while skin is still damp.
- Twice a day. Do not use a cotton pad to wipe it away instead of rinsing; a milk cleanser leaves a film that water is meant to carry off.
Does this product contain added fragrance?
Yes. The ingredient list for TROIAREUKE PIT Cleansing Milk 180ml includes Parfum. That is the label name for an added scent blend, whose individual components are not itemised beyond any allergens the label declares separately. The full list is printed in the Ingredients section of this page.
Are any declarable fragrance allergens listed?
Yes. Linalool and Butylphenyl Methylpropional appear on the ingredient list for TROIAREUKE PIT Cleansing Milk 180ml. These belong to the 26 fragrance components that EU cosmetic labelling requires to be named individually rather than folded into a fragrance entry.
Does this product contain denatured or SD alcohol?
No. The ingredient list for TROIAREUKE PIT Cleansing Milk 180ml names no denatured alcohol, SD alcohol or ethanol. Fatty alcohols such as cetyl and cetearyl alcohol are a different class of ingredient, used as emollients and thickeners, and are not counted here.
Not on the ingredient list below: denatured or SD alcohol, essential oils, parabens, sulfate surfactants and added color.

34 of 39 explained
- Water solvent
- Water is the base almost every serum, toner and cream is built on. It dissolves the water-loving ingredients and sets how light the finished texture feels. On an INCI list it is usually first, which only means it is the largest single ingredient by weight.
- Glycerin humectant
- Glycerin is the most used humectant in skincare. It draws water into the outer layer of skin and holds it there, and it is one of the very few ingredients whose hydrating effect is settled science rather than marketing. Higher amounts feel tacky, which is why it is usually blended.
- Dipropylene Glycol humectant
- Dipropylene Glycol is a glycol used as a solvent and a light humectant. Its main job is keeping the rest of the formula dissolved and the texture fluid rather than adding hydration of its own.
- Prunus Armeniaca Kernel Oil emollient
- Apricot kernel oil, a light oil high in oleic acid. It absorbs quickly and is used where a formula needs softening without heaviness.
- Cetearyl Alcohol fatty alcohol
- Cetearyl Alcohol is a waxy solid, not the drying kind of alcohol. It is a blend of cetyl and stearyl alcohols used to thicken a cream and keep oil and water from separating, and it softens skin as it does so.
- Sorbitan Sesquioleate emulsifier
- Sorbitan Sesquioleate is a water-in-oil emulsifier and pigment disperser. Cleansing oils use it so water can be worked into the oil at the rinse.
- Glyceryl Stearate emulsifier
- Glyceryl Stearate is glycerin joined to stearic acid, and one of the most used emulsifiers in skincare. It holds oil and water together and thickens the result, and it softens skin at the same time.
- Pinus Densiflora Leaf Extract plant extract
- Pinus Densiflora is Korean red pine, a plant with a long history in Korean traditional use. The needle extract is used as an antioxidant plant extract.
- Stearic Acid fatty acid
- Stearic Acid is a saturated fatty acid from plant fats, and one of the three lipid classes skin's own barrier is built from. In a formula it thickens, stabilises the emulsion and can be turned into a soap-style cleanser by adding a base.
- Sorbitan Stearate emulsifier
- Sorbitan Stearate is a mild emulsifier and thickener used to hold oil and water together in creams.
- Camellia Japonica Seed Oil emollient
- Camellia Seed Oil is the traditional Korean and Japanese hair and skin oil, high in oleic acid. It is a light emollient that absorbs quickly for its richness.
- Cetyl Ethylhexanoate emollient
- Cetyl Ethylhexanoate is a synthetic ester used as a dry-feeling emollient. It spreads easily, leaves a silky rather than oily finish, and helps disperse pigments and UV filters evenly.
22 more explained
- Butylene Glycol humectant
- Butylene Glycol is a small glycol that does two jobs at once: it holds water in the top layer of skin and it dissolves plant extracts and actives that plain water cannot. It also thins a formula, which is why watery Korean essences lean on it.
- Lonicera Japonica Flower Extract plant extract
- Honeysuckle flower extract, the geumeunhwa of Korean herbal practice. It resists microbes as well as conditioning, so it often doubles as part of a preservative system.
- Carbomer thickener
- Carbomer is a synthetic polymer that only gels once a base neutralises it, which is why arginine or tromethamine sits nearby on the list. It gives the clear, non-stringy gel texture a xanthan formula cannot reach.
- Arginine amino acid
- Arginine is an amino acid that does two jobs here: it holds water in the outer layer of skin, and it neutralises acidic gelling agents, which is why it often stands in for a synthetic pH adjuster.
- Cyclopentasiloxane silicone
- Cyclopentasiloxane is a volatile silicone: it spreads a formula thin and smooth then evaporates, leaving no residue. It is the silicone behind a dry, powdery primer finish.
- Triethylhexanoin emollient
- Triethylhexanoin is a light ester emollient that softens skin and disperses pigment. It absorbs cleanly and is often used to thin a heavy oil phase.
- 1,2-Hexanediol humectant
- 1,2-Hexanediol is a glycol used for two reasons: it holds water like glycerin, and it makes a formula harder for microbes to live in, so less traditional preservative is needed. Korean formulas use it heavily for that second reason.
- Disodium EDTA chelator
- EDTA is a chelator: it locks up trace metal ions from water and packaging that would otherwise turn a formula cloudy, off-colour or rancid. It does nothing to skin and appears at a fraction of a percent.
- Acorus Calamus Root Extract plant extract
- Sweet flag root extract, an aromatic wetland rhizome long used in Korean herbal practice. It is a conditioning plant extract.
- Perilla Ocymoides Leaf Extract plant extract
- Perilla leaf extract, the same plant Korean cooking uses as kkaennip. The leaf carries rosmarinic acid and luteolin and is used as an antioxidant botanical.
- Chamomilla Recutita Flower Extract plant extract
- Chamomile Flower Extract is one of the oldest ingredients in skincare, carrying bisabolol and chamazulene. It is used for the look of redness in formulas for reactive skin.
- Jasminum Officinale Extract plant extract
- Jasmine extract, from the flower. It is used as a conditioning plant extract and contributes its own scent.
- Hibiscus Sabdariffa Flower Extract plant extract
- Roselle hibiscus extract, deep red from anthocyanins and naturally acidic. It carries plant acids and is used as an antioxidant extract.
- Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract plant extract
- The peel extract of the satsuma mandarin, the gyul grown on Jeju. It carries flavonoids and aromatic oils and is used as a conditioning antioxidant extract.
- Saururus Chinensis Extract plant extract
- Asian lizard tail extract, closely related to houttuynia and used in the same kinds of Korean formula. It carries flavonoids and is one of the older Korean herbal ingredients.
- Houttuynia Cordata Extract plant extract
- Houttuynia Cordata is heartleaf, and it is one of the two or three anchor plants of Korean calming skincare. Its extract carries quercitrin and other flavonoids and is used for the look of redness and blemish-prone skin.
- Castanea Crenata Shell Extract plant extract
- Chestnut Shell Extract carries tannins and is used as an antioxidant plant extract, most often in formulas aimed at visible pores.
- Salicornia Herbacea Extract plant extract
- Glasswort, the hamcho that grows on Korean tidal flats. It concentrates sea minerals as it grows, so its extract is used as a mineral-rich hydrating ingredient.
- Tocopheryl Acetate antioxidant
- Tocopheryl Acetate is a stable vitamin E ester that skin converts to tocopherol. It is used as an antioxidant and a light emollient and holds up better than plain vitamin E in a formula.
- Parfum fragrance
- Fragrance, or Parfum, is a single declaration standing for a whole scent blend, which can be dozens of materials. Regulators allow it as a trade secret, so a list showing only this word does not say what the scent is made of. It is the most common trigger named by people with reactive skin.
- Linalool fragrance component
- Linalool is a floral aromatic found in lavender, bergamot and coriander. It is one of the 26 fragrance components EU labelling requires to be declared by name.
- Butylphenyl Methylpropional fragrance component
- A synthetic aroma molecule with a soft floral note, once widely known as Lilial. It is one of the fragrance components EU labelling requires to be named separately.
