How it works

The Radiant Vita Niacinamide Cream is a 50ml cream, used as the last skincare step, morning and evening, over serum. The active it is built around is Niacinamide, named fifth on its own ingredient list. The same list carries Adenosine, Glutathione and Beta-Carotene, so the active is not the only thing on it worth naming. How much of the Niacinamide stays on the skin, and for how long, is decided by the cream format rather than by the list alone. This is the Original Korean Formula, the cream Biodance sells in Korea, Niacinamide and all.

Key benefits

  • Niacinamide, the active this cream is built around
  • Adenosine on the same list, an active
  • Glutathione, Beta-Carotene and Tocopherol on the same list, antioxidants
  • Hydrogenated Polydecene and Isononyl Isononanoate further down the same list
  • Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil further down the same list
  • Niacinamide named fifth on the manufacturer list printed on this page

Key actives

Niacinamideactive

Niacinamide is vitamin B3, and it is the most studied active in Korean formulation. The name on the box points at it, and it is named fifth on this cream's own ingredient list.

Adenosineactive

Adenosine is a nucleoside that Korea's own cosmetic authority recognises as a wrinkle-care functional ingredient, which is why it appears on so many Korean lists at a low level. It is used for the look of fine lines and is stable and well tolerated. It is named eighteenth on this cream's list, alongside Niacinamide.

Glutathioneantioxidant

Glutathione is a small peptide the body uses as one of its main antioxidants. In skincare it is used as an antioxidant and for the look of dullness; it is unstable in water, so formulas that carry it are usually built around protecting it. It is named twentieth on this cream's list, alongside Niacinamide.

Beta-Caroteneantioxidant

Beta-Carotene is an orange plant pigment and a vitamin A precursor. It is used as an antioxidant and it tints a formula, which is often why it is there. The panel names it twenty-first on this cream's list, beside Niacinamide.

Tocopherolantioxidant

Tocopherol is vitamin E. It is an oil-soluble antioxidant that protects the oils in a formula from going rancid and works on skin as an emollient, and it is regularly paired with vitamin C because each keeps the other going for longer. The panel names it twenty-second on this cream's list, beside Niacinamide.

How to use

  1. Use the Radiant Vita Niacinamide Cream as the final layer of the evening routine, over your usual moisturizer.
  2. A thin film, warmed between fingertips, over the areas that feel driest rather than the whole face.
  3. Everything else goes on first. It is the outermost layer, and nothing is meant to go over it.
  4. At night, as often as skin feels tight. Do not use it under sunscreen or makeup in the morning; an occlusive film gives both of them nothing to hold to.

Worth knowing

  • This step is not a substitute for a dedicated sunscreen, which should still be the last step of the morning routine.
  • New actives, including this one, are best patch tested on the inner arm before a first full-face use.

  • People with dry, flaky skin are more likely to see a benefit from using vitamin E because it enhances moisturization.

  • Niacinamide helps reduce the appearance of pores in a few ways. By strengthening the skin barrier and improving elasticity, pores appear less noticeable and more even.
