How it works
A deep cleanser is asked to do more than a daily wash, and the way this one does it is with clay: kaolin and hydrated silica sit near the front of the list and take surface oil with them when they rinse. Sodium cocoyl glycinate is the surfactant base rather than a sulfate, so the wash stays mild for a formula aimed at congestion. What does the rice and inositol in this cleanser do?
Oryza sativa rice seed water and rice seed extract both appear on the list, alongside inositol, and rice-water formulas are a long standing Korean skincare category built around gentle brightening and softness on the skin's surface. How to use
- Use the RED RICE INOSITOL Pore Clarifying Deep Cleanser as your first step, morning and evening, on a face already wet with lukewarm water.
- A short pump or a pea of product is enough. Work it into a lather in wet hands for about twenty seconds before it touches the face.
- Rinse with lukewarm water and go straight on to your toner while skin is still damp, because a humectant layer has more to hold on to on a damp face.
- Twice a day is the ceiling. Do not follow it with a second cleanse in the morning, when there is no sunscreen or makeup left on the face to remove.
