How it works
A creamy cleanser is built on a soap base rather than a modern surfactant blend, and this one is no exception: stearic, myristic and lauric acid meet potassium hydroxide in the formula and whip into a dense, low-squeak foam. Hyaluronic acid and panthenol are on the same list, which is what keeps the rinse from finishing tight. It goes first in the routine, morning and evening, on a face already wet with warm water. It suits skin that finds a clear gel drying and does not want an oil cleanse in the morning. Follow it with toner while the face is still damp.
Key benefits
- Three hyaluronic entries and panthenol close out the list
- A dense soap-style lather softened with glycinate and glucoside surfactants
- Rinses to a moist, comfortable finish rather than a squeak
- Suits AM and PM use for normal to dry skin

COSRX Hydrium Triple Hyaluronic Moisturizing Cleanser
What makes this a fatty-acid cleanser rather than a foaming cleanser?
The formula is built on stearic, myristic, lauric and palmitic acid combined with potassium hydroxide, which is the classic soap-making reaction: a fatty acid plus an alkali forms a potassium soap in the jar. That gives a creamier, lower-foam wash than a sulfate or amino-acid surfactant cleanser, closer in feel to a cleansing balm that rinses clean.
Does this cleanser contain hyaluronic acid, and does it matter in a rinse-off product?
Yes, the list carries hyaluronic acid, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid and sodium hyaluronate near the end. In a cleanser these contribute during the brief window before rinsing, softening the wash rather than delivering the sustained hydration a leave-on serum provides, so the name Triple Hyaluronic describes the formula's composition rather than a leave-on treatment claim.
Is this cleanser fragrance-free?
No, fragrance appears roughly a third of the way down the list under the parfum labeling. Anyone avoiding scented cleansers on sensitive or reactive skin should be aware of this before choosing it.
Will this cleanser feel drying with daily use?
A potassium-soap base can feel more drying than a modern surfactant blend, but glycerin sits second on the list and hyaluronic acid and its salt forms appear near the end to offset that. Skin that already runs dry may still want to follow with a moisturizer right after rinsing, as with most soap-based cleansers.
Does this formula suit oily or combination skin better than dry skin?
The fatty-acid soap base cuts oil effectively, which tends to suit oilier skin, while the glycerin and hyaluronate content is there mainly to soften the rinse rather than to add lasting moisture. Combination and oily skin types are the better fit; very dry skin may prefer a cream or oil cleanser instead.

How to use
- Use the Hydrium Triple Hyaluronic Moisturizing Cleanser as your first step, morning and evening, on a wet face.
- A coin-sized amount, worked between wet palms until it turns dense, then massaged over the face in small circles.
- Rinse with lukewarm water and go to your toner while skin is still damp, so the layer above it has something to hold.
- Twice a day, every day. Do not finish with hot water; it undoes the point of a cleanser chosen for a soft rinse.
Worth knowing
- Fragrance is on the ingredient list.
