Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser

The two mild surfactants, cocamidopropyl betaine and sodium lauroyl methyl isethionate, are ingredients two and three, ahead of a botanical ferment cast built to leave a low-pH finish rather than an alkaline strip.

How it works

A morning wash has far less to remove than an evening one: no sunscreen, no makeup, only what the night left behind. This is the gel built for that job, and the low pH in its name is why it belongs on the morning side of the routine. It lathers thinly in wet hands, rinses in seconds, and leaves the face ready for toner rather than tight. In the evening it works as the second cleanse, after an oil or a balm has taken the sunscreen off. Skin that feels stripped by a foaming wash usually gets on better with a gel like this one.

Key benefits

  • Cocamidopropyl betaine and sodium lauroyl methyl isethionate are ingredients two and three, mild amphoteric and isethionate surfactants rather than a harsher sulfate
  • Styrax japonicus extract and Saccharomyces ferment carry the botanical, fermented character COSRX's low-pH line is known for
  • Built to leave the skin's own acid mantle intact, the premise the whole low-pH line is named for
  • 150 ml, sized for daily AM use as the first or only morning cleanse
  • Sourced as the original Korean-market COSRX release, not a US-shelf reformulation

How to use

  1. Use the Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser as your first step in the morning, on a face wet with lukewarm water.
  2. A short pump into wet hands, worked to a thin lather before it touches the face, then massaged for twenty seconds.
  3. Rinse and go straight to toner while skin is still damp. In the evening it goes after an oil cleanse rather than before it.
  4. Once or twice a day. Do not use it as the only evening cleanse on a day you wore sunscreen; a water-based gel is not built to lift it on its own.
