How it works
An oil cleanser is the first step of a two-step evening: it dissolves sunscreen and makeup, which water and a foam cleanser cannot lift on their own. This one is built on plant oils, jojoba seed oil and sunflower seed oil among them, and it carries centella asiatica extract and asiaticoside as well. It goes on dry skin with dry hands, then turns milky with a little water and rinses away. Skin that wears sunscreen every day is the case a first cleanse answers, and the wash that follows it is what finishes the job. Every evening you have worn sunscreen or makeup, and not in the morning, when there is nothing on the face to remove.
Key benefits
- Soybean, jojoba, oat kernel, olive and avocado oils do the dissolving
- Centella appears three times, as whole, leaf and root extract
- Rinses clean without a greasy film, even on oily skin
- Gentle enough for nightly cleansing for sensitive skin
Key actives
Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil
a light plant oil that dissolves long-wear makeup
Centella Asiatica Extract
the classic calming botanical, in triplicate
Tocopherol
vitamin E antioxidant for the oil phase
COSRX Pure Fit Cica Clear Cleansing Oil
What kind of cleansing oil is this, water-based or true oil?
This is a true oil cleanser: the list opens with ethylhexyl palmitate, sorbeth-30 tetraoleate and a run of plant oils including jojoba, sunflower and olive. It is designed to dissolve sunscreen and makeup on contact, then emulsify into a milky texture once water is added at the sink.
Does the centella asiatica in this oil cleanser do anything meaningful in a rinse-off product?
The list carries three separate centella entries, extract, leaf extract and root extract, plus the named actives asiaticoside, asiatic acid and madecassoside, positioned well down the list after the oil base. In a cleanser these contribute a soothing note during the brief contact time rather than the sustained calming effect a leave-on centella serum provides.
Will this cleansing oil leave a greasy residue?
It is formulated to emulsify, meaning it turns milky and rinses clean when water is added, rather than staying oily like a plain facial oil would. Sorbeth-30 tetraoleate near the top of the list is the emulsifier doing that work.
Does this cleanser contain citrus oils, and is that a concern for sensitive skin?
Yes, lime, lemon peel and bergamot fruit oil all appear on the list. Citrus oils can be sensitizing for some skin, particularly with sun exposure right after use, so anyone with citrus sensitivity should patch test or rinse thoroughly before going outside.
Is this a good first step for a double cleanse?
Yes, an oil-based cleanser like this is built specifically to dissolve sunscreen, SPF and long-wear makeup as the first step, with a water-based cleanser following to remove any remaining residue. That two-step approach is the standard double cleanse most Korean routines are built around.

How to use
- Use the Pure Fit Cica Clear Cleansing Oil as your first step in the evening, on dry skin and with dry hands.
- Two or three pumps, massaged over the face for about a minute so sunscreen and makeup have time to loosen.
- Add a little water and keep massaging until it turns milky, rinse, then follow with your usual water-based cleanser.
- Every evening you have worn sunscreen or makeup. Do not start it on a wet face; an oil cleanser needs a dry surface to grip what it is there to lift.
Worth knowing
- An essential oil or citrus peel oil is on the list; those carrying a fragrance sensitivity should check it.
