How it works
The Aqua Glowing Sunscreen is a 45ml sunscreen, used as the last step of the morning routine, over moisturizer and under makeup. The active it is built around is Niacinamide, named tenth on its own ingredient list. The same list carries Adenosine, Sodium DNA and Tocopherol, so the active is not the only thing on it worth naming. How much of the Niacinamide stays on the skin, and for how long, is decided by the sunscreen format rather than by the list alone. This is the Original Korean Formula, the sunscreen Dr.Althea sells in Korea, Niacinamide and all.
Key benefits
- Niacinamide, the active this sunscreen is built around
- Adenosine and Sodium DNA on the same list, actives
- Tocopherol on the same list, an antioxidant
- Ceramide NP on the same list, a barrier lipid
- Caulerpa Lentillifera Extract and Isononyl Isononanoate further down the same list
- Glycereth-26 and Panthenol further down the same list
Key actives
Niacinamide
Niacinamide is The brightening and barrier-support active. It appears at position 10 of 40 on Dr. Althea's own manufacturer ingredient list for this formula, which is real evidence of what the formula is built around rather than a marketing label placed over it.
Panthenol
Panthenol is A barrier-support humectant that also settles visible irritation. It appears at position 18 of 40 on Dr. Althea's own manufacturer ingredient list for this formula, which is real evidence of what the formula is built around rather than a marketing label placed over it.
Adenosine
Adenosine is The wrinkle-care active recognized in Korea's own cosmetic functional-ingredient system. It appears at position 32 of 40 on Dr. Althea's own manufacturer ingredient list for this formula, which is real evidence of what the formula is built around rather than a marketing label placed over it.
Sodium Hyaluronate
Sodium Hyaluronate is A hyaluronic form working at the surface. It appears at position 34 of 40 on Dr. Althea's own manufacturer ingredient list for this formula, which is real evidence of what the formula is built around rather than a marketing label placed over it.
Where does this sunscreen go in my routine?
As the last step of the morning routine, over moisturizer and under makeup. Anything thinner than a sunscreen goes on before it, and anything richer goes on after. If you are adding it to a routine you already like, give it a week on its own first, so what you see is the Niacinamide and not three changes at once.
Is this the Korean-market sunscreen or a US version?
The Korean-market one, Niacinamide and all. We match this sunscreen to its Korean barcode before it reaches the shelf, which is the check that tells you which market release you are holding.
What else is on the list besides Niacinamide?
Adenosine, Sodium DNA and Tocopherol. The order they are printed in on this sunscreen's panel is the order on the box, so you can see where Niacinamide sits relative to them. Further down the same panel: Ceramide NP, Caulerpa Lentillifera Extract and Isononyl Isononanoate.

Every unit keeps its original barcode and batch code intact, so the unit in your hands can be checked against the brand’s own records.
Import duties are paid by us before the parcel reaches you, so nothing is owed at the door, and returns run for 30 days.

How to use
- Use the Aqua Glowing Sunscreen as the last step of the morning routine, over moisturizer and under makeup.
- Apply about two finger lengths of sunscreen 15 minutes before going outside.
- Nothing skincare goes over it. It is the last thing on in the morning, and it is never mixed into the moisturizer underneath it.
- Every morning, and again through the day as the instruction on the pack directs. Do not stir it into your moisturizer to save a step.
Worth knowing
- Patch test this sunscreen on a small area and wait a day before using it more widely, especially with Niacinamide on the list.
- Introduce this sunscreen on its own for the first week, so anything your skin does is traceable to the Niacinamide rather than to three changes at once.
