Polydeoxyribonucleotide
Polydeoxyribonucleotide, or PDRN, is a mixture of short DNA fragments, in cosmetics almost always from salmon. It is the ingredient at the centre of the current Korean skincare trend and is used for the look of tired, uneven skin.
Sodium DNA
Sodium DNA is the salt of DNA, in Korean skincare almost always salmon derived, and it is the ingredient behind the PDRN category. It is used as a humectant and for the look of tired skin; the fragments themselves are what the name PDRN refers to.
Hydrolyzed DNA
Hydrolyzed DNA is DNA cut into short fragments so it dissolves and spreads. It is the same ingredient family as sodium DNA and polydeoxyribonucleotide, the one Korean formulas market as PDRN.
Hydrolyzed Sodium DNA
DNA, usually from salmon milt, cut into short water soluble fragments and neutralised as a sodium salt. It is the same raw material family PDRN comes from, and it is used as a water holding conditioning ingredient.
DNA
DNA declared on its own is the same ingredient family as sodium DNA and hydrolyzed DNA, the one Korean formulas market as PDRN. At the size used in a formula it works as a humectant and a smoothing film.
