How it works

The Exosome Repair Ampoule Plus is a 40ml ampoule, used after toner and before moisturizer, morning and evening. The active it is built around is Niacinamide, named fifth on its own ingredient list. The same list carries Adenosine, Allantoin and Madecassic Acid, so the active is not the only thing on it worth naming. How much of the Niacinamide stays on the skin, and for how long, is decided by the ampoule format rather than by the list alone. This is the Original Korean Formula, the ampoule Dr. Melaxin sells in Korea, Niacinamide and all.

Key benefits

  • Niacinamide, the active this ampoule is built around
  • Adenosine, Allantoin, Madecassic Acid and Asiaticoside on the same list, actives
  • Asiatic Acid and Ceramide NP further down the same list
  • Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract and Zea Mays (Corn) Kernel Extract further down the same list
  • Niacinamide named fifth on the manufacturer list printed on this page
  • Original Korean Formula, the ampoule sold on Korean shelves

Key actives

Niacinamideactive

Niacinamide is vitamin B3, and it is the most studied active in Korean formulation. On this ampoule's own ingredient list it is named fifth.

Adenosineactive

Adenosine is a nucleoside that Korea's own cosmetic authority recognises as a wrinkle-care functional ingredient, which is why it appears on so many Korean lists at a low level. It is used for the look of fine lines and is stable and well tolerated. The panel names it sixteenth on this ampoule's list, beside Niacinamide.

Allantoinactive

Allantoin is a comfrey-derived compound used to condition skin and soften the outer layer so it feels smoother. It is one of the standard additions to a formula built for easily irritated skin. It is named twenty-sixth on this ampoule's list, alongside Niacinamide.

Madecassic Acidactive

Madecassic Acid is the fourth centella triterpene. A list that names all four is telling you the extract was standardised rather than simply pressed, which is the difference between a cica claim and a cica formula. It is named thirty-second on this ampoule's list, alongside Niacinamide.

Asiaticosideactive

Asiaticoside is one of the four active triterpenes isolated from centella and the most studied of them. Korean formulas name it separately when they want to show which fraction of the plant they standardised. It is named thirty-third on this ampoule's list, alongside Niacinamide.

How to use

  1. Apply after the toner while the skin is still damp so the thicker texture spreads in one pass.
  2. Press it in with the flats of the fingers, working outward, rather than rubbing it in circles.
  3. Follow with a cream to hold it in place, then sunscreen as the final morning step.
  4. Do not layer it under a second heavy serum, since two thick layers is what leaves a face feeling coated rather than treated.

Worth knowing

  • Patch test this ampoule on a small area and wait a day before using it more widely, especially with Niacinamide on the list.
  • Introduce this ampoule on its own for the first week, so anything your skin does is traceable to the Niacinamide rather than to three changes at once.
