How it works

Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Bubble Foam is built as a foam cleanser, so its texture and finish are designed around one specific place in a routine rather than several. The formula's own ingredient list carries Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5), Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate among its named ingredients, placed at a level consistent with a foam cleanser rather than a spot treatment. The texture is built for use first, as your cleansing step, before any leave-on product, which is why it behaves differently on skin than a product meant for a different point in a routine. This is the Korean-market formula of the 1025 dokdo bubble foam, the version sold on shelves in Korea rather than a formula reworked for a different market.

Key benefits

  • Amino acid derived surfactants lead the list, so it cleans without the tight after-feel
  • Three hyaluronate forms plus panthenol keep water in the skin through the rinse
  • Green tea, centella, willow bark and bergamot leaf extracts calm as it cleanses
  • A trace of salicylic acid helps keep pores looking clear

Key actives

Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5)

A humectant and skin-conditioning agent that helps the formula feel soft and comfortable rather than tight once it has absorbed, a staple of Korean toners and creams.

Hyaluronic Acid

A water-binding humectant that helps the surface feel plumper and less tight through the day, sitting on skin rather than sinking below it.

Sodium Hyaluronate

A smaller-molecule form of hyaluronic acid that spreads easily and helps the finish feel dewy rather than heavy.

Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid

A low-molecular-weight form of hyaluronic acid, included for a lighter, faster-absorbing hydration layer than the standard-weight form alone would give this particular formula.

Allantoin

A conditioning ingredient long used in Korean skincare to keep a formula feeling calm and comfortable on skin that runs sensitive.

How to use

  1. Use the 1025 Dokdo Bubble Foam as your first step, morning and evening, on a face already wet with lukewarm water.
  2. A short pump or a pea of product is enough. Work it into a lather in wet hands for about twenty seconds before it touches the face.
  3. Rinse with lukewarm water and go straight on to your toner while skin is still damp, because a humectant layer has more to hold on to on a damp face.
  4. Twice a day is the ceiling. Do not follow it with a second cleanse in the morning, when there is no sunscreen or makeup left on the face to remove.

Worth knowing

  • Keep to lukewarm rather than hot water, since hot water is what leaves a cleanser feeling stripping.
  • Cut back to once daily if the skin feels tight rather than clean afterward.

What professionals say

What skin-care professionals say about the key actives in this formula, quoted from the medical sources linked beside each.

  • Pantothenol is a common ingredient in skin care and hair products I recommend, particularly for people who are prone to dryness.

Taylor Bullock, MDDermatology resident, Cleveland Clinic
  • Hyaluronic acid helps bind water to collagen, which traps water in the skin. That helps make the skin more plump and full-looking.

  • Allantoin can tone down the dryness of the individual cells. It increases the water content of the skin, which means it helps to hydrate and moisturize.
