How it works

Most sheet masks are hydrating, and this one is doing barrier work instead, which shows in what is on the list. Ceramide NP, ceramide AP, cholesterol, oleic acid, stearic acid and rapeseed sterols are the lipid side, with soybean seed extract and panthenol, the two ingredients the line is named for, alongside them. It goes on after cleansing and toner, replacing the serum step for that evening, and what is left gets patted in. Skin that is stinging at products it used to tolerate is the case for a mask like this over a hydrating one. Use it two or three times a week through a bad stretch, then keep it as an occasional step.

Key benefits

  • Panthenol: pro-vitamin B5, carried for softness and moisture
  • Ceramide NP: a barrier lipid identical to what skin makes itself
  • Ceramide AP: a barrier lipid identical to what skin makes itself
  • Betaine: a mild, naturally derived humectant
  • Opens with Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol and Glycine Max (Soybean) Seed Extract (1,176ppm), the ingredients Round Lab put first
  • No fragrance or parfum on the ingredient list

How to use

  1. Use the Soybean Panthenol Mask after toner, in place of your serum step, in the evening.
  2. Unfold the sheet, line it up at the eyes first, then smooth it outward so no air is trapped underneath.
  3. Take it off at the time printed on the pack, pat in the essence left behind rather than rinsing, then go straight to your moisturizer.
  4. Two or three evenings a week is a normal rhythm. Do not leave it on past its time; a sheet that has gone dry takes moisture back off the face as it goes.

Worth knowing

  • Patch test on the inner arm before first use on the face, especially if trying this brand or formula for the first time.
  • Store away from direct sunlight and heat so the formula and any actives inside stay stable through its shelf life.
