How to use
- Use the PDRN Spirulina Soothing Sherbet Mask 1g after toner, in place of your serum step, in the evening.
- Unfold the sheet, line it up at the eyes first, then smooth it outward so no air is trapped underneath.
- Take it off at the time printed on the pack, pat in the essence left behind rather than rinsing, then go straight to your moisturizer.
- Two or three evenings a week is a normal rhythm. Do not leave it on past its time; a sheet that has gone dry takes moisture back off the face as it goes.
Does this product contain added fragrance?
No. Neither fragrance nor parfum appears on the ingredient list for SOME BY MI PDRN Spirulina Soothing Sherbet Mask 1g 10ea. Those are the two names a cosmetic label uses for an added scent blend, so a formula carrying one would name it. The full list is printed in the Ingredients section of this page.
Are any declarable fragrance allergens listed?
No. None of the 26 fragrance components that EU cosmetic labelling requires to be named individually appear on the ingredient list for SOME BY MI PDRN Spirulina Soothing Sherbet Mask 1g 10ea. They are the components most often reported as contact allergens, which is why that rule names them one by one.
Does this product contain denatured or SD alcohol?
No. The ingredient list for SOME BY MI PDRN Spirulina Soothing Sherbet Mask 1g 10ea names no denatured alcohol, SD alcohol or ethanol. Fatty alcohols such as cetyl and cetearyl alcohol are a different class of ingredient, used as emollients and thickeners, and are not counted here.
Not on the ingredient list below: fragrance or parfum, denatured or SD alcohol, essential oils, silicones, parabens, sulfate surfactants, mineral oil or petrolatum and added color.

50 of 52 explained
- Zea Mays (corn) Starch absorbent
- Corn Starch absorbs oil and moisture and gives a soft, matte finish. It also thickens a formula.
- Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate thickener
- Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate is a modified starch used to thicken and to take the sticky edge off a formula, leaving a powdery finish.
- Sodium Polyacrylate thickener
- Sodium Polyacrylate is a polymer that absorbs many times its weight in water. It thickens a formula and holds water in a gel against the skin.
- Silica absorbent
- Silica is finely milled mineral, essentially very pure sand. It absorbs oil, stops powders clumping and soft-focuses the look of pores and fine lines.
- Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Vp Copolymer thickener
- This is a synthetic thickener that gels quickly and holds an emulsion stable across a wide pH range. It gives a light, non-tacky body.
- Sodium Carboxymethyl Starch thickener
- Modified starch that swells strongly in water. It thickens and gives a formula a soft, cushioned body.
- Sodium Hyaluronate humectant
- Sodium Hyaluronate is the salt of hyaluronic acid, and it is what most products labelled hyaluronic actually contain. The salt dissolves more readily and the molecule is smaller, so it sits in the outer layer of skin rather than only on top of it.
- Xanthan Gum thickener
- Xanthan Gum is a polysaccharide made by fermenting sugar. It thickens a watery formula into a gel and holds the whole thing in suspension so nothing separates. Too much of it and a serum turns stringy, which is why it appears in fractions of a percent.
- Chromium Oxide Greens colorant
- Chromium Oxide Greens is a dull green mineral pigment. It is inert, sits on the surface, and is used in small amounts to correct the look of redness in a tinted product.
- Pyrus Communis (pear) Fruit Extract plant extract
- Pear Fruit Extract carries fruit sugars and mild fruit acids. It is used as a hydrating extract with a very light smoothing effect on the surface.
- Ultramarines colorant
- Ultramarines are blue to violet mineral pigments. In skincare they are used in tiny amounts to shift a yellow-looking base back toward neutral.
- Rosa Damascena Flower Water plant extract
- Rosa Damascena Flower Water is the water left from distilling rose petals. It is used in place of plain water as a base and carries the scent and trace compounds of the distillation.
38 more explained
- Iris Florentina Root Extract plant extract
- Iris Florentina Root Extract, or orris root, is a long-standing perfumery and skincare ingredient. It is used as a conditioning extract with a soft, powdery scent.
- Cucumis Melo (melon) Fruit Extract plant extract
- Melon Fruit Extract carries fruit sugars and a natural antioxidant enzyme system. It is used as a light hydrating extract.
- Hedera Helix (ivy) Leaf/Stem Extract plant extract
- Ivy Leaf and Stem Extract carries saponins, plant compounds that foam slightly in water. It is used in body and eye formulas for the look of puffiness.
- Sodium Acrylates Crosspolymer-2 thickener
- A cross linked acrylate polymer supplied pre-neutralised, so it thickens water without a separate pH step. It gives a light gel with a fresh, non-tacky break.
- Water solvent
- Water is the base almost every serum, toner and cream is built on. It dissolves the water-loving ingredients and sets how light the finished texture feels. On an INCI list it is usually first, which only means it is the largest single ingredient by weight.
- Saccharide Hydrolysate humectant
- Saccharide Hydrolysate is a mixture of plant sugars broken down for use as a humectant. It holds water in the outer layer.
- Gluconolactone exfoliant
- Gluconolactone is a PHA, the gentlest exfoliant class. Its molecule is too large to penetrate quickly, so it smooths the surface without the sting of an AHA, and it is a humectant at the same time.
- Betaine humectant
- Betaine is a sugar-beet-derived humectant that cells use to hold water. In a formula it hydrates and takes the edge off cleansers and acids, which is why it often appears alongside them.
- Allantoin active
- Allantoin is a comfrey-derived compound used to condition skin and soften the outer layer so it feels smoother. It is one of the standard additions to a formula built for easily irritated skin.
- Glycerin humectant
- Glycerin is the most used humectant in skincare. It draws water into the outer layer of skin and holds it there, and it is one of the very few ingredients whose hydrating effect is settled science rather than marketing. Higher amounts feel tacky, which is why it is usually blended.
- Butylene Glycol humectant
- Butylene Glycol is a small glycol that does two jobs at once: it holds water in the top layer of skin and it dissolves plant extracts and actives that plain water cannot. It also thins a formula, which is why watery Korean essences lean on it.
- Dipropylene Glycol humectant
- Dipropylene Glycol is a glycol used as a solvent and a light humectant. Its main job is keeping the rest of the formula dissolved and the texture fluid rather than adding hydration of its own.
- 1,2-Hexanediol humectant
- 1,2-Hexanediol is a glycol used for two reasons: it holds water like glycerin, and it makes a formula harder for microbes to live in, so less traditional preservative is needed. Korean formulas use it heavily for that second reason.
- Fucus Vesiculosus Extract plant extract
- Bladderwrack extract, a brown seaweed named for the air bladders that float it. It carries fucoidan and alginates and is used as a hydrating marine extract.
- Prunella Vulgaris Extract plant extract
- Selfheal extract, a mint-family herb long used in East Asian practice. It carries rosmarinic acid and is used as a conditioning antioxidant extract.
- Ulmus Davidiana Root Extract plant extract
- Ulmus Davidiana is Japanese elm, whose inner bark yields a naturally slippery mucilage. Korean formulas use the root extract for that cushioned feel and for the look of reactive skin.
- Pueraria Lobata Root Extract plant extract
- Pueraria Lobata is kudzu. Its root extract carries isoflavones, plant compounds structurally similar to oestrogen, and Korean formulas use it for the look of thinning, less resilient skin.
- Pinus Palustris Leaf Extract plant extract
- Pinus Palustris is longleaf pine. Its needle extract carries plant antioxidants and appears in Korean formulas alongside other conifer extracts.
- Oenothera Biennis (evening Primrose) Flower Extract plant extract
- Evening Primrose Flower Extract is used as a conditioning plant extract. The seed oil of the same plant is the better known part, and it is a different ingredient.
- Laminaria Japonica Extract plant extract
- Laminaria Japonica is kombu kelp. Its extract carries alginates, minerals and iodine, and it is used as a hydrating, mineral-rich ingredient.
- Spirulina Maxima Extract plant extract
- Spirulina extract, from a blue-green algae. It carries proteins, amino acids and phycocyanin, and it tints a formula blue-green.
- Glucose humectant
- Glucose is a simple sugar used as a humectant and as food for the ferment ingredients in the same formula. It hydrates mildly and adds a soft slip.
- Sodium DNA active
- Sodium DNA is the salt of DNA, in Korean skincare almost always salmon derived, and it is the ingredient behind the PDRN category. It is used as a humectant and for the look of tired skin; the fragments themselves are what the name PDRN refers to.
- Hydrolyzed Pea Protein protein
- Pea protein cut into small fragments so it dissolves in water. It is a plant protein used as a humectant and a light film former.
- Ulva Lactuca Extract polysaccharide
- Extract of sea lettuce, a green algae. It carries ulvan, a sulphated sugar polymer that holds water, and it is used as a marine conditioning extract.
- Nelumbo Nucifera Root Extract plant extract
- Lotus root extract. The root is starchy and mucilaginous, so the extract hydrates and leaves a soft, cushioned feel.
- Macrocystis Pyrifera (kelp) Extract plant extract
- Giant kelp extract. It carries alginates, minerals and iodine and is used as a hydrating, mineral-rich marine ingredient.
- Laminaria Cloustoni Extract polysaccharide
- Extract of a North Atlantic kelp. Like other brown algae it carries alginate and fucoidan, sugars that hold water and thicken, along with minerals from sea water.
- Hizikia Fusiforme Extract plant extract
- Tot, a Korean brown seaweed eaten as a side dish. Its extract is mineral rich and used as a hydrating marine ingredient.
- Hibiscus Esculentus Fruit Extract plant extract
- Hibiscus Esculentus is okra, whose fruit is thick with mucilage. Its extract hydrates and gives a cushioned, slippery feel.
- Gelidium Cartilagineum Extract plant extract
- A red seaweed extract from the genus agar is made from. It thickens and hydrates and leaves a cushioned film.
- Dioscorea Japonica Root Extract plant extract
- Dioscorea Japonica is Japanese wild yam, whose root is naturally slippery with mucilage. Its extract hydrates and leaves a cushioned feel.
- Codium Fragile Extract plant extract
- Extract of a green seaweed known as dead man fingers. Like most green algae it carries sulphated polysaccharides and minerals, and it is used as a water holding marine extract.
- Chlorella Vulgaris Extract plant extract
- Chlorella Vulgaris is a freshwater green algae. Its extract carries proteins, chlorophyll and amino acids and is used as a conditioning ingredient.
- Angelica Keiskei Extract plant extract
- Ashitaba extract, a Japanese angelica relative rich in chalcones. It is used as an antioxidant conditioning extract.
- Sodium Chloride thickener
- Sodium Chloride is salt. In a cleanser it thickens the liquid; in a mask or essence it balances the mineral content of the water phase. It has no active role.
- Sargassum Fulvellum Extract plant extract
- Mojaban, a Korean brown seaweed. Its extract carries alginates, minerals and polyphenols and is used as a hydrating marine ingredient.
- Undaria Pinnatifida Extract plant extract
- Extract of the brown seaweed Korean cooking calls miyeok. It carries fucoidan and alginates, both strong water-holding polysaccharides.
