Mineral Oil occlusive

Mineral Oil is a purified petroleum-derived oil. Cosmetic grade is one of the most inert ingredients available, which is why it appears in patches, balms and formulas for easily irritated skin.

Ethylhexyl Palmitate emollient

Ethylhexyl Palmitate is a palm-derived ester used as a light emollient and a solvent for pigment. It gives a smooth, non-greasy slip.

Isopropyl Myristate emollient

Isopropyl Myristate is a light ester emollient that absorbs fast and helps other ingredients penetrate. It is known to be poorly suited to blemish-prone skin at higher levels.

Isostearic Acid fatty acid

Isostearic Acid is a branched fatty acid, so unlike stearic acid it stays liquid. It conditions and helps disperse pigments.

Water solvent

Water is the base almost every serum, toner and cream is built on. It dissolves the water-loving ingredients and sets how light the finished texture feels. On an INCI list it is usually first, which only means it is the largest single ingredient by weight.

Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil emollient

Macadamia Seed Oil is unusually high in palmitoleic acid, a fatty acid that human sebum also contains, which is why it absorbs faster than most nut oils. It is a cushioning emollient for dry skin.

Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil emollient

Meadowfoam Seed Oil is over 95 percent long-chain fatty acids, which makes it exceptionally stable against going rancid. It is an emollient that leaves a soft, sealed feel.
