How it works

A moisturizer for blemish-prone skin has one hard problem: it has to hold water without adding weight the skin does not want. This is the gel cream in COSRX's AC Collection, the 2.0 version of that step, and it goes on last, over serum, morning and evening. A gel cream is thinner than a balm cream and sinks in fast enough to sit under sunscreen or makeup without pilling. Skin that turns oily by lunchtime and still feels tight is the case this fits. Twice a day, every day, and at night it is the layer that closes the routine.

How to use

  1. Use the AC Collection Lightweight Soothing Moisturizer 2.0 as the last skincare step, morning and evening.
  2. A pea-sized amount for the whole face, pressed in with flat palms rather than massaged around.
  3. It goes over serum, and in the morning sunscreen is the only thing that follows it.
  4. Twice a day. Do not layer a second cream over it on an oily day; one sealing layer is the job it is doing.

Key benefits

  • Propolis extract leads the list, with aloe and green tea waters second and third
  • Zinc PCA and niacinamide help balance oil and tone on blemish-prone skin
  • Menthyl lactate gives a brief cooling feel as it settles
  • An oil-free finish that layers comfortably under sun care and makeup

Worth knowing

  • Propolis and/or honey are animal-derived, so this is not a vegan formula.
