How it works
A peel-off mask is a film: it dries into one piece on the skin and comes away in one piece, which is why the layer has to be even and opaque to work at all. This is the glaze mask in COSRX's PDRN line, painted on with a brush rather than spread with fingertips. It goes on clean dry skin after cleansing, and the rest of the routine follows once the film has come off. Skin that looks rough and tired the day before an event is what a mask like this gets bought for. Once or twice a week, and never over broken or freshly exfoliated skin.

What are the actual ingredients behind the 'exosome' name on this mask?
The ingredient the exosome naming refers to is lactobacillus extracellular vesicles, a bacterial-fermentation-derived ingredient, listed alongside sodium DNA, the PDRN component. Neither is a human or plant-derived exosome in the clinical research sense; both are the specific named ingredients that appear on this product's own list, and reading the INCI name rather than the marketing term is the accurate way to know what is in the formula.
Why does this mask have a shimmery or glazed finish?
Titanium dioxide, mica, and synthetic fluorphlogopite all appear mid-list, and these are the ingredients responsible for the visible shimmer in the peel-off glaze. They contribute to the finish and visual effect during use rather than a skin-conditioning function.
How is this different from a standard hydrogel sheet mask?
This mask uses polyvinyl alcohol as a film-forming base, which sets into a peelable glaze rather than the soft agar or carrageenan gel used in COSRX's hydrogel sheet masks. - Octyldodecanol is a branched fatty alcohol used as an emollient and as a solvent for pigments and mineral powders. It thickens slightly and leaves a soft finish.
- Methylpropanediol humectant
