How it works

The PDRN Bounce Ball Cream is a 50ml cream, used as the last skincare step, morning and evening, over serum. The active it is built around is Sodium DNA, named sixteenth on its own ingredient list. The same list carries Niacinamide, Allantoin and Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, so the active is not the only thing on it worth naming. How much of the Sodium DNA stays on the skin, and for how long, is decided by the cream format rather than by the list alone. This is the Original Korean Formula, the cream Frankly sells in Korea, Sodium DNA and all.

Key benefits

  • Sodium DNA, the active this cream is built around
  • Niacinamide, Allantoin, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate and Adenosine on the same list, actives
  • Salmon Egg Extract and Bacillus Ferment further down the same list
  • Ubiquinone and Astaxanthin further down the same list
  • Sodium DNA named sixteenth on the manufacturer list printed on this page
  • Sourced for the Korean market, not a US-shelf reformulation of this cream

Key actives

Sodium DNAactive

Sodium DNA is the salt of DNA, in Korean skincare almost always salmon derived, and it is the ingredient behind the PDRN category. It is used as a humectant and for the look of tired skin; the fragments themselves are what the name PDRN refers to. It is the entry this cream is named after, and the list carries it.

Niacinamideactive

Niacinamide is vitamin B3, and it is the most studied active in Korean formulation. The panel names it fourth on this cream's list, beside Sodium DNA.

Allantoinactive

Allantoin is a comfrey-derived compound used to condition skin and soften the outer layer so it feels smoother. It is one of the standard additions to a formula built for easily irritated skin. The panel names it thirteenth on this cream's list, beside Sodium DNA.

Dipotassium Glycyrrhizateactive

Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate is a water-soluble salt derived from licorice root. It is named seventeenth on this cream's list, alongside Sodium DNA.

Adenosineactive

Adenosine is a nucleoside that Korea's own cosmetic authority recognises as a wrinkle-care functional ingredient, which is why it appears on so many Korean lists at a low level. It is used for the look of fine lines and is stable and well tolerated. The panel names it eighteenth on this cream's list, beside Sodium DNA.

Payment and security

We accept

How to use

  1. Take a small amount after your serum and press it over the face, working outward from the centre.
  2. Go lighter over the nose and forehead if those areas run oily, and heavier on the cheeks if they run dry.
  3. Let it settle for a minute before makeup so nothing rolls up over it.
  4. Avoid using more than you need on a warm day, because a cream that never fully settles is what makes makeup slide.

Worth knowing

  • Patch test this cream on a small area and wait a day before using it more widely, especially with Sodium DNA on the list.
  • Introduce this cream on its own for the first week, so anything your skin does is traceable to the Sodium DNA rather than to three changes at once.
