How it works
A lotion, called an emulsion in most Korean routines, is the light moisturising layer that goes between a serum and a cream. It pours rather than scoops, spreads in one pass and settles without the weight you feel from a cream. In a full routine it is the layer that carries the load on skin that finds a cream too much, and the bridge under one on skin that does not. It goes after the watery steps because a fluid this light cannot sit on top of anything richer than itself. It is the emulsion in a range aimed at mature skin, so it pairs with a cream from the same line more naturally than it stands alone on very dry skin.
Key benefits
- What it is: lotion, 170ml, used the light moisturising step between serum and cream.
- Texture: a milky fluid that pours and spreads in one pass.
- Aimed at: everyday moisture, the look of fine lines, layering under a cream.
- Original Korean Formula: the version sold on Korean shelves, not a US reformulation.

What is the innisfree Jeju Orchid Lotion 170ml?
It is a 170ml moisturising lotion, the emulsion step between serum and cream. On normal and combination skin it can be the only moisturising layer, and on dry skin it works as a bridge under a cream. It pours rather than scoops and settles without weight.
Is the lotion the same thing as a moisturiser?
It is a light one. In a Korean routine the emulsion or lotion slot sits between serum and cream, and on oily or combination skin it is often all the moisturising a face needs. On dry skin it works better as a bridge with a cream over the top than as the whole step.
Can I skip my cream if I use this?
On oily or combination skin, often yes, especially in warm weather. On dry skin a light emulsion on its own tends to have evaporated by the middle of the night, so a cream over it does the holding. Try it both ways for a week each and judge how the skin feels at the mirror in the morning.
Where exactly does the 170ml go in the order?
After cleanser, toner, essence and serum, and before a cream or an oil. The order is a texture ladder from thin to thick, and this sits near the top of it. If you use a sleeping mask, that still goes last.
Is this the same version sold in Korea?
Yes, this is the Korean-market formula rather than a US reformulation of it. The 170ml comes with Korean primary labelling and an intact barcode, which is what lets you verify what you have received. We hold stock in the United States.

How to use
- Apply it after your serum while the skin is still slightly damp, so it spreads without dragging.
- Pour a coin sized amount into the palm and press it over the face and down the neck.
- Follow with a cream on drier areas, or stop here if a cream feels like too much on you.
- Do not apply it over a cream, because a light fluid put on last has nothing left to sink into.
Worth knowing
- On very dry skin use a cream over it rather than relying on it as the only layer.
- Give it a moment to settle before makeup so nothing rolls or pills.
